I alread have leather seats I have tried 3 different seat covers on to protect them, but I digress, that's a different personal problem :)

but do they have air conditioning? haha
I guess for Jeep's sake I should be trying to sell you harder on replacing it

im assuming you got the katskin then. how is the ac seat? ive yet to try one personally
my bad, i thought you meant ac in general not ac seats. i don't have those in my jeep but my wife has them in her mercedes. we've found on super hot days when you want them the most they aren't effective but on kinda warm days you can feel the difference. we don't use them anymore really.

I'd be interested in whatever seat cover you end up with and why, if you don't mind. You seem somewhat anal retentive like me. lol 😇

The depreciation is what’s deterring me from doing this. I look at the current market value of my vehicles occasionally. Yesterday Carvana sent an email stating their offer for my truck had decreased $3,400 since September 7th.

A 2023 truck with 8,000 miles that had a sticker price of $55,000 (didn’t pay that) is now worth $30,000 in trade after 9 months of ownership. I have seen trade in values at other dealers for $27,000.

I am very happy with my 2022 Rubicon 6MT and have had no issues or problems with it, bought new in Feb 2023 now at 21k miles. I am stupidly considering buying a new 2024 Rubicon 6MT and would be very intersted in feedback from anyone who has actually owned both a 2024 and a 2023 or earlier. My reasons for considering this are admitedly petty and trivial.

Why I am interested in a 24:
- the power front seats
- the larger entertainment screen
- not having to hassle with the clutch recall that I haven't bothered to attend to yet (again no issues at all so far)
- nostalgia of it apparently being the last year of an MT in the JT

What I am worried about:
- getting hosed on trade in value, assume I will be out of pocket 10-15k but very interested in trade in values others have gotten
- the airflow of the vents below the larger entertainment screen seems like it would be worse than the huge circular vents we have on 23 and older models
- unwhittengly ending up with a lemon or even one that has minimal problems as we know there are many on this forum that have been unluckly while others like me have been mostly issue free
- rath of my wife (no forum feedback needed on this one)

so as you can see I am 4 v 4 on the decision which is why i post here
I traded my 22 JTR manual for a 23 JTR auto, and by 2024 they worked out all the kinks, at least that's the way it feels. I got tired of Jeep ignoring the MT/clutch issues and I'm getting older. The seat material is different, the electronics seem better, and the Bilstein Mopar lift is better off-road than the Fox. So, I'm happy. It seems, however, that there is no more MTs in 2025s.

FWIW, I saw a 24 JTR in person the other day and to my liking the fabric of the seats (cloth) and steering wheel are different enough for me to notice, not sure if I liked them better or they were just different to what I’ve been in for 3 years now.

The screen is nice, but I’m not the biggest fan of it, albeit uconnect 5 would be a welcome addition, love me some car play and would love to not have to be connected physically to the truck.

I bought my '22 new and got a deal at the time of MSRP. So 60K + T&L. Then came all my mods,, see my sig. It's really done mod wise to me. The market has changed and I would get hammered in re sale. The new 24's don't really offer me anything really. Looks like I am married to my '22 for a while.
Look at your loss at trade in and look at what you could do to your rig mod wise. $15K will do a lot.

2020 Jeep Gladiator Launch Edition Rubicon
Traded my 2020 launch edition Rubicon for a 2024 in a moment of weakness... I loved my 2020 and it was an amazing Jeep, very few problems, fixed under warranty. Hoping the new one works just as good.

Some things to think about.

The new larger screen is awesome, but not being able to split the screen between Apple Maps (CarPlay) and Sirius is a pain when travelling. You have to keep flipping back and forth.

If you want the Offroad Maps feature, make sure you see it working before taking the new Jeep. My 2024 is a Rubicon so you would think that is included. My radio even shows Alfa Offroad Maps included as part of the Vehicle Performance package, it is not apparently. I called Uconnect and they just say my Jeep doesn't have that feature, with no real explanation why.

The antenna in the windshield is just stupid. If you break your windshield which happens too often up North than I"m sure the cost will be crazy. I've had my Jeep windshields replaced by a glass shop with aftermarket glass and it was very reasonable. Plus, I had a stubby Antenna on my 2020 and it never got caught/snagged on anything while off-roading.

My 2020 had leather, my 2024 has cloth seats, but regardless they feel more comfortable for some reason in the 2024. They are not the powered version, but that wasn't a feature I wanted.

The 2024 does steer and driver better than my 2020.

The 2024 has a more premium dash with more leather coverage than plastic.

Also, may not be relevant for you, but I got the Mopar 2" lift installed with the purchase, and was happy to see it came with remote reservoir Bilsteins. It rides incredible and nice to have everything covered under factory warranty.

Good luck with your decision.

Can only compare against a brief test ride in a '23, but small advantages for the '24 (entirely ignoring the cost of changing vehicles from one MY to the other):

- Allegedly has firewall sound dampening from the diesel and additional sound dampening material in the pillars.
- Side-curtain airbags.
- Standard blindspot monitoring (the visibility in the JT is excellent, but this should have been standard on all JTs from the beginning).
- Windshield == Gorilla Glass. Integral radio antenna is slick (until you have to replace the glass).
- Screen is brighter/much clearer than the earlier 8.4 screen.
- Wireless Android Auto.
- Rectangular dash A/C vents are better, IMO (ala the MJ, XJ, TJ, WJ).

...and not affected by MT recall or that power steering pump electrical harness (fire!) recall :)

Been thinking about doing this with a custom order so I can go from gas Overland to a diesel Sport Max Tow. The financial side just doesn't make sense. I did this 3 times going from JKU to JK to Rav4 to Gladiator and every time I either made money on the deal or was very close to what I paid. This change would put me 11k down from where I'm at, not factoring in tax on my last purchase and tax on the new one.

After looking at it more, theres lots of talk about a refresh in 2025 so I'd rather see that first. I know the diesel is going away, but I'm in California so I can't install a tuner anyway.

- Love the idea of Gorilla Glass but they fumbled this one. I've heard so many bad stories I'd just avoid it. + You can get it cheaply on any year replacement.
- This is true but pretty much any aftermarket head unit will perform better than either OEM.
- Aftermarket is easy on this, $70 adapter works seamlessly to add wireless
- Blasphemy. Round vents are beauty.
