Does the flag even face the right direction of n both sides? Is the field of stars toward the front of the vehicle on the respective side (like the flag is streaming to the rear, rushing into battle? Haven’t had eyes on this yet.
Yes they did it right. I would post pictures but I already de badged.

IMO Jeep made a lot of noise concerning their addition of the US flag being fist on US-sold ‘23 Gladiators. When the images started to show the update, most people couldn’t see where Jeep placed the flag.

In the end, it’s barely noticeable. Why tout such a minor modification if it’s so minuscule? I’m guessing marketing.

I’m curious, what other’s think of the hype and end execution?

(I’m really not interested in the “who cares” and “what do you care what other people think” comments, feel free to save thfor trolling other threads)
cuz this is "Mericka"

Not sure about the "hype"... this is the first I've heard of it though admittedly I don't frequent the blogs. You'd think the corporation patriotism facade was transparent to all at this point, but I guess Jeep research shows otherwise.

I mean sell one Gladiator to someone who bought it because of a flag and that covers all the decal costs for the year.

Judging from the original picture, the flag is backwards right? Should be flag forward orientation for advancing I'm pretty sure.

Or I may be seeing it wrong since it's pretty small

Yeah, I see your point, but my intention is sincere and not for trolling. I'm just curious as to why Jeep felt the need to add the flag to the Gladiator and then why the auto blogs even mentioned it. I'd not even considered "click bate", but that makes sense.

Personally, I consider myself a patriot. I severed 22 yrs in the Armed Forces, retired honorably, and I'm still prepared to give my life to defend my national liberty and to prevent domestic tyranny. All that being said, I don't feel the need to display anything related to my service or express my national pride...or any other group I'm affiliated with. I tend to be a very reserved person, it just seems immature and juvenile to display such things...again, this is my opinion. I also believe that everyone else is free to express themselves as they see fit.

As to your comment...

That's always frustrated me. I've gotten slack for my unwillingness to display service oriented stickers. I been told I have "no pride in my service" and "why don't you display the flag on your house"; (1) I despise group think. (2) My actual service speaks for itself, I believe in DOING, not just displaying. (3) I don't care for the unwanted attention. (4) I just don't feel like it.
I did nine years in the us army. Not once has anyone ever accused me of “not having pride in my service” for not displaying a service oriented sticker, nor has anyone - even once - questioned my patriotism for not having a flag on my house. If you’re having these issues maybe you need to reconsider your association with certain people. . .

The flags are oriented correctly, the Star field facing forward with the stripes trailing behind.

This topic came up a few months ago....

I agree with the OP's POV, as I have said before, Great-Idea to honor our service peoples, very lame implementation. Almost insulting.

There are two ends of the spectrum with this stuff aesthetically,
providing an overly "gaudy" presentation on the jeep and providing a miniscule presentation accomplishing very, very little. Jeep needs to find the right way to get balance btwn the 2 ends to respectfully use the American Flag, and all it represents, including honoring those who served, so they can line their pockets in an honorable way (not a cheesy way).

Not going to read between lines nor fill them.

I kinda see where the OP is coming from to an extent. I did my 20 years active during the entirety of GWOT. I don't have anything other then a US Flag decal on my vehicles. No need for a Bronze Star license plate or anything. This my humble analytical observation, those that cover there vehicles in MIL stuff were turds 99% of the time. I'm not talking shit, I have a great amount of respect for anyone that was willing to serve their country. All I'm saying is they're over compensating for we'll say, not being the cream of the crop or top performers.

On that note, I do fly the stars and stripes at home 24/7 in accordance with the appropriate customs and courtesies.

One great thing about being an American, the first amendment.........I've seen what not having that right looks like in other parts of the world.

Let's be adults, productive and be accepted or respectful to other people's thoughts and opinions. You don't have to like it. Just like watching TV or the radio, if you don't like what you hear......you just change the channel. To easy, no need to fight an bicker about it.

When I was stationed overseas a decade ago, we used to give people grief for some of their vehicular 'flair'. Namely having a unit sticker, badges and a set of those family lineups - Dad, Mom, Three kids a cat and a parakeet etcetera. That was kind of a 'know your AO' thing, and not broadcasting to the world that you are target for FIS and other potential hostile actors. Because we were also issued local nation license plates of which the first two letters indicated your city/town of residence, at a glance someone could learn a substantial amount about who and what you were from those seemingly innocent, if obnoxious, stickers. We were issued those license plates for the specific purpose of keeping a lower profile and not standing out as foreign military. Because of the threatcon my unit prohibited traveling to and from base in uniform but then SGT Snuffy or his spousal unit would negate that opsec protocol with all the nonsense.
