The factory wheels actually look pretty damned good. The problem is the flimsy, 33 lb., paper thin, ugly, POS tires that Jeep is putting on these things from the factory.

Grab a set of all-terrain tires or mud-terrain tires and throw them on the Sport wheels and it totally changes the entire appearance.

I kinda wish Jeep offered the base Sport steel wheel and tire setup as a tiered credit option on the other models for those looking to swap tires and wheels out the gate.

I'm with you there. I plan on keeping the sport wheels/tires for winter only driving. I would prefer steelies for the winter. Keep the air in better when its cold.

I really like my stock Overland wheels. Hate the tires though. Just wished the Overland came in 17' vs 18's to make tire choices easier. That's the only reason I bought a separate set of 17's.

I agree. I need some 33's and I think it will look fine

I dont mind the sport S wheels at all! They would look even better black... but I tend to paint all my wheels. I ordered method 313s to go on my Rubicon, probably with 35s or maybe 37s. Keeping the stock Rubicon (painting em black!) 33s for snow, as the wild peaks are supposed to be really great in the snow. Then summer time and wheeling I'll throw on the methods.

I totally agree the stock tires H/T tires on the sports and overland have to go... If I got the sport the plan was to get the wheels powdercoated black. The style does remind me of a classic wrangler and I'm sure that was Jeep's intention. I really like the overland style wheels but again I had to get rid of those tires and go with an A/T. Here's my overland wheel with a 295/70R18 Bridgestone Dueller Revo 3 mounted. After a lot of research this offered the best balance (IMHO) of looks, on/off road handling and snow traction (and weight, price).

I have the Sport S and refused to even tell anyone I bought a Gladiator until I replaced the rims/tires. Before with the stock eyesores and after with much better LE take-offs.

I too have the LE take offs on my sport s. SO MUCH BETTER.

I noticed the Sport steel wheels on my JL hold a lot of dirt, mud, and snow/ice in the outer lip that causes a bad wheel imbalance.
Now, on my Gladiator Sport S, I think I’ll like the stock wheels with a larger aggressive tire.
Has anyone noticed the Sport S wheels were originally polished aluminum? You can see around the lug nuts where they didn’t paint looks polished.
It might be worth stripping off the paint to see if they’re totally polished. That would make them look great!
