Hey all,

Just curious as to what made you go diesel over the 3.6? Occupation? Trails? Residency? Overlanding? Tell your story!

My experience with the 3.0 VM and its abilities, when compared with the gasoline engine, drove my interest and ultimate ownership.

That makes sense. Can I ask what experience you had before the gladiator? I'm assuming you mean reliability and it's torque

Power curve, efficiency. I felt the 3.6 was a dog in the JT/JL.. 3.0 effortlessly pulls

Just ordered my first diesel from Gupton on Friday, and will be sending my 3.6 to Vroom. The pentastar has always been adequate, but nothing more. I want a truck that has the power to match its attitude.

Interesting. So what you want the truck for the 3.6 doesn't do? Not sure the price difference but was a supercharger not an option?

Okay, so you want the diesel for towing. The torque at the lower rpms versus the 3.6 revving high

The 3.6 will do everything......adequately. And reliably, which is no small thing. However, I wanted something that was capable of more. Effortless power and a satisfying diesel clatter are appealing to me, and address the one shortcoming i have with my JT.

I’m running 37s and would be perfectly happy with not regearing it. Now I am adding lockers later this year so I’m going to regear since I’m already there

No regear with 37s, fuel economy (at least that’s what I tell myself), … honestly the “feel” and the sound

When the time came to order my Gladiator I knew I wanted to do some medium towing (16' v-nose & UTV) but but being in my 50's I was tired of towing with hi-rev gas engines. I plan on 35's and a 2" lift but I think the diesel will handle that fine. If I am being honest, I always wanted one and this is the time to check the box!
