I've got the 33" Falken MT's on my wife's Jeep and General Grabber X3's (35") on my Jeep. The Falkens are MUCH quieter. It isn't even close. I think they are the quietest mud tires I've ever known. I've had BFG KMs and KM2s, as well.I am considering picking up a set of Mojave takeoffs with some Wildpeak MT's.
I am curious about how loud they are and if I should look for some AT's instead.
Anyone running the MT's? Do you like them? Pretty Noisy?
Thanks
I'm in the exact same situation as DanW. Falken MT on JLU, X3 on JT. They're both a little noisy as you slow down around 10mph to a stop and you feel the lugs. But at normal speeds I really don't see either being an issue. The JLU is a soft-top and we converse just fine. Whatever noise there is, you'll quickly get used to. It's part of the adventure.I've got the 33" Falken MT's on my wife's Jeep and General Grabber X3's (35") on my Jeep. The Falkens are MUCH quieter. It isn't even close. My brother has the Falkens in a 35 and they're as quiet as the 33's.
Remember, no mud tire is quiet. But these are easily the quietest I've found.
But if it is a big worry, go with an AT. I've gone everywhere with KO2's on my Jeep that I've gone with the X3's. In mud I've had to work harder to get through, but they did the job. Everywhere else they do every bit as well, except they do it quietly. And with less rolling resistance, so with slightly better fuel economy.
While the Grabber X3's are the noisiest mud tire I've owned, they are also the smoothest riding. They are the C rated 35" version, which are hard to find. I think they are even smoother than the C rated 35" KO2s I had before, which I thought were incredibly smooth.I went from the Falcon MT's to the AT's. Not so much due to noise, they are louder, but more so because of how rough the MT's were. Seems like I could feel the knobbies. Couldn't get used to it.
They came stock on my JTR, and I loved them. I was bummed that I couldn't find them in 37's when I upgraded. I put my stock wheels/tires on my daughter's JKU and she loves them.I have them in 37's and I love them. They've performed excellent with everything I've thrown at them, and they're very quiet. I've done two +1,000 mile trips with them and haven't been driven mad by the typical MT drone. I honestly hear more wind noise from the light bar than I do the tires. I highly recommend them, I just wish they were about 10lbs per tire lighter.
Had Wildpeak MT's on my jtr and was pretty impressed with the noise level. I did not say how quiet they were, they are m/t's. My first set of m/t's but you get use to the sound. I have since put some Cooper stt pro m/t's which are quieter than the wildpeak at interstate speeds, lower pitch i think. If you wheel in soft dirt and mud you will love the m/t'sI am considering picking up a set of Mojave takeoffs with some Wildpeak MT's.

Nice truck. Love the wheel/tire combo. I'm not usually a fan of the white letters out, but it looks great on your rig.Had Wildpeak MT's on my jtr and was pretty impressed with the noise level.
