To resurrect this thread, I originally planned to custom order my 2022 Mojave but during the pandemic I just couldn't wait for over a year to get it so I grabbed what they had on the lot. It's a Sarge Green with some options but no LEDs. I figured I would upgrade them later. The view, with the fog lights on, wasn't bad at all. It actually projected a nice long view of the road ahead. I do however wish to upgrade to aftermarket LEDs and came across this set from ledfactorymart.com

Has anyone installed these? also, when swapping out to LEDs does the dealer need to flash the ECM in order to make them work properly without spitting out codes? Or should I just bite the bulled and order the more expensive Jeep brand and have them install them? I just hate to give them more money than they are worth. I saved over $500 bucks on the hard tonneau cover and I installed them myself. Also did a sport bar setup which I plan on installing lights later on..

thoughts?

Absolutely, factory halogens are garbage, LED should be standard on all trims by now.

This is less than 30 min in snowy conditions under 30*, but the pic was taken 1hr 40min after being in the snow.

When it happens at night it sucks. You basically have ambient glow the distance of the fogs.

Up to you if you want to DIY them later, but my wife drives a JLU with the halogens and I really need to replace them. They felt downright unsafe to me once I'd driven my truck with the LEDs.
Also saves you money on lightbars/ aux lights because there is almost no reason to add additional forward facing lights. The factory headlights are more than enough.
I second this. The first time I was out in the dark with the factory LED's I relized I will need no need for extra lights. They are incredibly bright!

sorry to say but bright whites in heavy snow will blind you. last time we were driving like that my wife said "we are flying in space". I would think you want yellow light for fog and snow and you want them offset so you do not get reflection directly in your eyes. That said I have no issues driving with my halogen lights but at some point I will upgrade them to LED. Perhaps will add a light bar to the bumper with RGB just for snow and fog.

Yep. I am starting to wonder if I will regret not getting the LED'S on my recently ordered JTRD. I had given consideration to getting the steel front bumper but also had to get the KED package as well. My thoughts at the time was that I was planning on getting the Oracle heated Oculus headlights along with the Oracle taillights, reverse lights and fog lights.

However since I have placed my order I have started reading up a little more on the forum about their products and the issues they have had. I had mainly not wanted the factory package due to no heated headlight. So now I am thinking I may regret my decision here.
I do not regret and for the $ would do it again.

I am in the same boat as the op. I got an Overland recently with all the features I want except the LEDs. I thought it wouldn't be that big a deal until I drove at night. And a big deal it is, those halogens really suck and I will be upgrading to LEDs.

Now the question is what to get. Are the Mopars far and away superior or are there any other brands that are just as good?

Thanks

On edit, I am new to this and just now seeing the backorder issue on the Mopars. Are they ever going to be available or do I need to just go after market?

Yes.

love my JTWD, but steel bumpers and leds will be a must next time.

The headlights are worthless at night on backcountry roads or anything without ambient lighting.

I didn’t have the option of factory LEDs on my Willys sport. I hated the halogens for the week I had them on. Bought a set of KC gravity pro headlights + fogs and got a takeoff set of LED DRLs from this forum. I’m around $1000 plus some wrenching time and absolutely thrilled with the outcome.

That said, Had the base models had the option to pick the LEDs I’d have picked them from the start. ??

If you’re thinking about it prior to delivery…yeah…you’re going to regret it.

Get yourself a set of dot legal aftermarket LEDs, and don't look back. Look for the dot symbol on them though. Some of the cheap ones aren't DOT approved, and the light pattern sucks. You won't be able to see, and you'll be blinding everyone else. They aren't too expensive. I wish I knew what brand we had on our JKU, but I can't remember.

Definitely wouldn’t get the halogens. Mine came with LED’s and they are awesome. Night and day difference.

I haven’t regretted getting the halogens at all. LEDs are one of the most over rated upgrades imo. Halogens work fine.
