I git the Gorilla glass “upgrade” because it was already on the Gladiator I wanted. So the Mopar website shows a 2 year warranty on this glass, ok cool.

So nit even 2 months on my new car and a truck kicks a SMALL pebble that normally would have done nothing to a regular winshiled and the Gotilla glass gets a nice 1” spiderweb!!!

I call Jeep and they said they meed 5 days to schedule me for glass. I took pictures of the original damage because I knew the crack would get bigger and i told the service person so. She said no problem.

Of course when I get to the dealer that crack is now over 6” and growing and they refuse to honor the warranty because the crack is “too big”!!!! They want $1,300 to replace that POS glass. Opened a case with Jeep and they ghosted me. Finally just called my insurance company and they had Safelite replace my windshield with another OEM Gorilla glass.

Wrote a letter to Corning. Crickets. Gorilla glass is a scam…

Within 4 months of having our "new to us" 2020 Gladiator, we got a chip that spidered slightly. I have left it for now. It's not huge. May get someone to look at the chip fix process to see if it will hold. It's the size of a nickel now, I would say.

Trying not to get started on my past rants about assbags that haul shit down the highway and put everyone behind them in peril. There is literally no way to get away from triaxles where I'm from. They are everywhere, and at every road transition or large bad patch area there is shit being littered on everyone that is anywhere close. "We're not responsible for your broken windshield" protects them right. You're responsible for being irresponsible!!

I see laminated window replacement options on Amazon for under $300. I'll get someone to install it - no warranty but not needed. If it's just gonna keep getting cracked, which it seems like it will, why spend a ton replacing when you have to?

You can't honestly say that with a straight face. You do not know the speed or angle or the surface of what hit you.
That's why there's so much crap info on the internet "because it sounded the same" or that sort of thing. Really funny.

Did you get out and examine it? Was it just as smooth as one that would have done nothing to another windshield? Your speed exactly the same? Was the glass temperature the same? Cabin temperature?
Laughable.

And that's what you got out of my story? The failure by Jeep to honor the warranty that was posted in the documents they gave me and website, AND the crickets from Jeep and Corning after I tried to raise my concerns completely elude you. God I hate simple minded internet trolls... Please skip my posts next time, they are too complex for you.

Stay back 500'. Sure, no problem, I'll give you 1/10th of a mile so everything you're dumping has a chance to settle. 😆

17 years with a JEEP JK Wrangler. Two windshield changes but my farm was near a rock quarry with trucks rumbling down our road all the time with full loads going. who knows where. The last 8 years of 17 where I retired and moved to a more urban location, better luck not being a rock truck target.

One year ago, I replaced the JK with a neighbors lightly uses 2022 JT Gladiator w/Gorilla glass windshield he sold to me when his trailering requirements needed a full size truck. Didn't take but a few months in its mostly city driving to have a big crack in this windshield to require replacement. I chose to not get another Gorilla glass. It may be lighter and in theory, have better protection from some object hits. Yes I have good insurance and deductible. But I had a standard glass windshield installed.

Nobody can predict when and how often a windshield, especially the near vertical Wrangler and Gladiator windshields will last before road or off road driving damages the front glass. Coincidentally, two weeks after the new windshield was installed, something black-ish came at theis new windshield that my wife (driving) and I briefly saw but could not describe, nail us on the glass. Maybe a small bird except it sounded extra solid. No hint of smear or anything left behind. But we both think if we had a Gorilla glass replacement, we surely be headed to the glass shop for another replacement.

The years of driving on and off road with the Wrangler with its great visibility all around but especially forward due to the nearly vertical windshield, its worth it even though most of us know we'll have more issues than a more efficient raked windshield affords. With the higher rake in other SUV oriented vehicles providing a bit of better mpg too. Nope, I'll stick to the JEEP JT, worm gear steering simplicity/ruggedness, real shock absorbers instead of 4 wheel aligning with struts, great seat comfort and the more vertical windshield. Which is a delight for snow and ice to most of the time, to fall off on al of the windows on its own.

I'm on my 3rd windshield... Original windshield last almost 4 years. The replacement lasted 7 months (standard generic glass) and now on the 3rd, gorilla this time... But I've heard they don't fair much better

Mine was only a couple thousand miles. Took a rock on the interstate from a van tire. Loud "CRACK". Looked around... nothing. Thought maybe I got lucky or I lost paint instead. Then I hit a bump and saw a sparkle out of the corner of my eye as the crack shot up from the bottom. It turned under the wiper, so I thought I might still get lucky, but then it turned again and went straight up. I was watching it grow with every bump.

A large wet rotten limb fell from overhead, on a wooded stretch where I was driving maybe 50mph and it impacted my 2025 JT windshield right in front of my face. Sounded like a gunshot in the Jeep. My ears were ringing for the next three hours.
Did zero damage. I was shocked it didn’t blow out the windshield. Not even a crack.
I took a falling walnut at 55mph. Thought it was going to come through. Nothing though.

Mine lasted 5 days
We might have a winner!

It’s funny how it works out, live with a crack and it never gets hit again. Replace it and 3-5 months later you are living with a crack again, which never gets hit again until it is replaced
I would have lived with mine if it had stayed low, but I have been pulled over for a cracked windshield, where the crack was horizontal and only a half inch above the wiper, so I knew I'd get hit with how this one was.

I'm on my 2nd windshield, first made it roughly a year before a rock kicked up off an F350 and gave me an edge to edge crack. Second one took another chip but it's small enough and not in my direct view, so I still have it, albeit patched by Safelite so it should not spread. I considered requesting gorilla glass if it's more resilient, but it seems that it's a crap shoot either way.

Well after over 4 years and not a chip or any damage it happened...heavy duty concrete rake flew off a trailer directly at my windshield at over 70 mph. I don't think any glass would have sustained that hit!
Praise the Lord it didn't go completely through the windshield, but my wife was covered in pieces of glass. It also damaged the upper windshield frame.

That’s Crazy!!! I have seen ladders fly off trucks on the I-15S though too. That stuff is scary!! Haven’t broken one on the Gladiator yet but did put a shop vac through one on my LJ. Slipped out of my hand coming down from the attic and when I tried to catch it and myself all I did was shove it at the windshield of the LJ. I was even sober at the time!!!!

My trip up to Reno last weekend they were using “sand” on the roads and no matter how hard I tried I still took hits to the Gorilla glass. There are quite a few little chips and I’m not at all impressed with the Gorilla glass. Only have 2k miles on the truck. Luckily I didn’t find any paint chips, glass is easier to replace than paint.

Right there is why I opt for GG. That sort of damage and preventing glass shards in the face

Yes Sir...replacement is GG. I am seriously considering the Racing Optics windshield defense as well.
