Apologies if posted elsewhere, I have been searching and can't find anything. I have the Harbor Freight LED light pods (https://www.harborfreight.com/3-in-led-flood-light-64322.html) and wiring harness (https://www.harborfreight.com/off-road-light-wiring-kit-64330.html). I want to wire these to one factory auxiliary switch. I understand where to wire the ground and hot wire but I would prefer to get rid of the rest of the harness with the redundant switch.

Could I just cut the wire where indicated in the diagram, strip red and black down and wire that straight in? Is the relay and fuse necessary to have on there if it is going through the aux wires? Any help is appreciated!

Yeah you can cut there, the fuse and everything is already included in the setup for the Aux button so you don't need any of that.

Just did that on mine... super easy. Aux wires are right next to the battery, just pick the one you want (based on the wattage of the lights --- probably ok with the 15A small wires). Run the positive to that wire then ground the other and you should be done.

I’m about to embark on a similar project using rugged ridges 3”cube floods. Is there any benefit to using the supplied relay and just getting rid of the switch? And power the relay with the factory Aux switch?

No cut it off, your aux switch is twice as nice and a clean install vs fishing a line and adding there switches to your dash.

I wired lights using the included relay, but I have a second battery that I put in for the lights and winch. I removed the included switch from the harness and trigger the relay using the AUX switch.
