I have 4 major complaints/disappointments

1. Once a month I have to send my credit union a very large sum of money or they will literally come steal my Jeep from me. What the hell is up with that crap?

2. This is the first vehicle, including other Jeep’s, that I can’t seem to be able to read the oil dipstick. Currently the dipstick on the 3.0 simultaneously reads empty and overflowing. I‘ve had to fall back to judging it based on how bad the lifters are rattling.

3. My kid, the spawn of my loins, mini me, the little person who I get to download all my weirdness to, would rather play Roblox, than watch Jeep youtube, research mods and tinker with the Jeep all day long. What is wrong with this child?

4. BlueDef is actually clear. I‘m confused.
I have yet to check the oil, you have a diesel, I will check mine sometime this week. I can't even imagine the Jeep being low on oil so new. Even stranger the union having repossession rights over the Jeep.

The credit union thing was just absurdist humor; the horror of being expected to pay for the vehicle I just bought and commentary on just how expensive this thing was. But for any loan secured by collateral, that collateral can be repossessed. Credit unions are no different. Of course the process might vary by state and active duty service members are partially protected by SCRA. My credit union, a big one which primarily services military and civil service, has actually gotten in trouble for failure to notify in certain jurisdictions. I’m not actually concerned about it getting repossessed.

Most Eco-Diesels seem to be losing about 3/4 to a full quart prior to the first oil change. Mine appears to be down about that much. The dipstick in the thing is tragic. There’s multiple threads on it. It also only measures the first quart apparently being a “short stick” although those are pretty common.

This all day long it seems. Most likely only going to get “more “ challenging.

There are a lot of really great companies out there. Some really good local shops as well. They are out there ....keep doing the homework.

Patience is a must right now.
Exactly

I guess it's good that I'm finally learning how to be patient after 41 years

The rapid population growth in my part of AZ combined with the worker shortage is doing a great job of teaching me patience as well

The supply chain stuff makes everything a struggle, not just jeep. Buying anything today feels more like a donation to a KickStarter campaign rather than a real order lol.

We can see that in the paper launches of things/cars and taking orders for these things/cars that cannot possibly be fulfilled in a typical period of time.

I heard somewhere online that someone that got their Mustang Mach-e in an accident and it would take 6 months to get a new rear bumper. You would thing a spare one of those would exist somewhere by now. Interesting that 6 month number shared with the injector, seems kinda generic and unsure. My Bronco I thought I was getting this fall could start getting made over a Year(s) from when I expected it. I get that there are shortages.

The biggest part that bothers me is the communication. Like nobody at ford can tell me how many cars need to be built before my Bronco would get a vin, how many months, years it would take. I ordered a jeep instead and was told it would take 4-6 weeks and I'm week 5 and my dealer says it's done, and jeep says it's framing, the internet says that the plant is shutting down, and no idea if it's done, how long it will take to get done, and even if it is done there are not enough drivers to move them so I will randomly get a jeep maybe lol. I wish they could give me an estimated date, and if that changed I wouldn't be mad, I just want constant updates that are based on something rather than covid, people, or material shortages because I wonder if this will just be an excuse to be shitty and unorganized vs actual problems soon enough. I do know that problems do exist in logistics, manufacturing and so on but it seems like companies will take deposits and orders for things they cannot make for the time being.
Everything seems far too coincidental.

Supply chain issues aren’t helping. I’m starting to believe that stuff is fake news somewheRe in the chain. Big bucks to be made when you have limited inventory.
When a whole society marks itself with "shelter in place," "masks 24/7," for a flu bug, it's time to go full PT Barnum on them.

Depends on what you are buying. My wife just bought a new JLU, needed Weathertec floor mats, Red Rock side steps, and a hitch. All coming within a week.
Another thing i've noticed is the big box stores seem to have zero issues with supply chain, worker shortages or any of the above. Walmart functioning as normal around here as well as any other WS big box.

Worst thing is dealerships. They all suck. And Quadratecs ads on here are deceptive. I clicked on three different wheel ads that jumped 50 in price once it went to the website.

The worst part of Jeep ownership for me is everybody slamming the doors. #2 is all the parts places that claim to have things in stock until they've taken your money.

My career works primarily with manufacturing and production facilities.
The biggest problem I hear of is getting the people to work the shifts. They may have the demand and supplies, but they can't hire enough people to fill the jobs.
It seems that EVERY plant has a "Now Hiring" sign out front.
The problem is everything shut down. Stuff that's planned literally over a year out, and we had to base forecasting on that. Or else we'd have had a warehouse full of stuff that no one would be buying, and therefore no income, and no way to pay for it. So to re-allocate these resources now is taking a while to get the wheels running.

This is a no win situation for everyone.
Yup. So many places are hiring. The company I work for has been having some supply issues with raw materials for the past couple of months. Our supplier of chemicals (rhymes with cow) started accepting orders from "buy now, pay now" customers - no terms. Cash flow is king.

If you're new to Jeep, research the availability of local Jeep/4wd clubs. Go to their meetings, talk to people and ask questions. Jeep is a people thing, so make Jeep people YOUR thing. If you do this I can guarantee you'll find people who've been "jeeping" for 20-30 years and even more. They've owned many jeeps, worked on them and probably know more about your Jeep than the folks who engineered it. Find a "jeep mentor". You'll learn more from them in 1 hour than a day searching the internet trying to sort through all the BS out there.

No such thing, if you are having issues, you aren’t doing it right.
