Ever heard that? My 16 yo son's friend said, "that's the ugliest truck ever - why would your Dad want one of those", when my son mentioned I was thinking about buying a Gladiator. Funny thing is the friend's Mom just bought a new Porsche and I've never really been a big fan of Porsche looks especially the Boxster's and SUV's (too Jelly Bean for me). Not saying the Gladiator is gonna win any design or style awards with that box hanging off the back but you can still go rock crawling, pull the doors and top off plus the extra utility of a pickup bed combined with higher tow capacity. To each his own, I guess.:)

I love things that look more function than form. So the Gladiator fits that bill. I think it looks awesome. But I get that others don't like it. Personally, I don't like all the other new mid-sized trucks. They are all too soft looking.

I fully agree with the OP, a lot of Porsches are jelly bean looking.

I do love the look of the new Bronco. I think a bronco truck would look pretty nice too.

The Gladiator just looks all business.

Who’s butt the guys kids friend’s mom?

Really guys Jeeps have never won beauty contests as there really isn’t anything on all models of Jeeps from the CJ2A to JT that was not designed as functional need rather then looks. They are ugly functional vhehicles that’s inner beauty shows through and is almost ageless, compared to most everything else that is following the latest styling trend and will look old and obsolete with next model release!......Jack

PS: then again Mojave and Rubicon hood scoops from factory are useless and non funtional!

Have you ever seen a Tesla? People pay money for those things apparently. In my mind, they are the most hideous car you can buy.... but apparently I am in the minority here. To each his own. I love every square inch of my gladiator.

If I can get my hands on one of these, I'm gonna. My neighbor said he knows of one not far from us but so far the guy won't let go of it. (small block chevy in it but I can sure change that!)

Anyone note any family resemblance between these and the JT?
I guess I don't see it......

It not JUST a Truck...its JEEP. Way more to it than just looks...considering we spend so much more money making look different than it did off the lot thats tough to say but its true. It doesn't appeal to teenagers of this era because the Jeep is multi purpose and teenagers are still finding their way. Give the boys a soft top JL or JT for the weekend and send them out on spring break, he'll appreciate it then.

I've seen the Mercedes so-called "SUV", and the QS-whatevers around me and I can't stand to look at them, or the Flex - that was ugly. I know folks here love the Land Rovers, but I think their butts are butt ugly, IMO.

I don't care if people don't love how the JT looks, I like mine a lot and think it looks just fine.

I have aged out of caring what anybody thinks about what I drive. I have 3 vehicles....my Gladiator, a 2010 Mazdaspeed3 (that is highly divisive in the looks department) and a a 1956 F100 that is generally loved even if it doesn't drive and won't for a while.

I drive what I like, not going to be hurt by random opinions of people who think a new camry is sporty or who think an X6 looks good

Edit: I turn 31 soon.

I had one ass clown say "I don't know why you would want one it's ugly" me knowing that he is a VW fanatic. No out loud response.... It's not worth it. My thoughts I don't give a F### what you think or like much less about what I like and have. I'm not here to please you. He has spent over a quarter of what my JT cost on a older VW.
There is only one person who opinion I care about reference to what I drive... My own but I have always kindly had that opinion that I don't give a F### about others opinions. As long as I'm not ashamed of the A hole I see in the mirror I'm good.:like:

The back end does look like it's missing something to me but a cap or rack fixes that quickly.

When I first saw a Gladiator going down the interstate it was a sport with the skinny stock tires and I thought it was kind of neat but it didn’t draw me at first. Then I saw a few pictures of them with some nice aggressive tread tires on a rubicon and that was it. I knew I loved the look and would get one. Fast forward 6 months and my Overland with rubi take offs is making me happy every time I see it and drive it. Funnest truck I have ever owned bar none and a top contender for being the most enjoyable vehicle I have ever owned.

My neighbor has a Nissan Juke, talk about ugly!
I think the JT grows on you, at least that's what I keep telling myself.

My wife loves it, which is huge!
