Ok so I’m being told by my local off road shop that these gears will only fit a rubicon. I have a 2023 freedom edition which is essentially a sport s. Not max tow. I’m finding conflicting results. What are your opinions? Part number is YGK068.

Find a different off road shop.
They would only fit a JL Rubicon, because in the JL they still had the Dana 35 front axle in the other models.
For JT's we have a Dana 44 front and rear in ALL models. Those gears will fit, now finding a shop who can set up Yukon's well may be hard to do and that may be the real reason the shop is saying they won't fit - they just don't want to work with Yukon.

Short of it, unless you are attached to that specific off road shop, find a new one because 5 minutes of Google and I was able to confirm the above would work out.

I was finding the same info, the only real difference is the wider axels. Thanks

DO NOT go with Yukon, unless you want to pay to replace them again in under 20,000 miles when the pinion gear sheds its teeth.

They have been sitting in my garage for about 6 months already, they are new in the box and I got them from a member on here from the marketplace.

Go with Dana Spicer gears if you can.

The Yukon's are hit or miss with issues. Some swear by them, others swear at them.

Don't get gears as a "hit or miss" thing.

I intend to take the advice of the ones who have actually experienced these gears. I do search and read a ton, gearing is not something that I want to take a gamble with. If the consensus is that they are bad then I will look for others and try to sell these.

I did speak to my local shop that I basically use for everything, they thought I had a Wrangler and that is why they said the gears I have would not work. They have told me that they only install Yukon gears, but they don't specifically specialize in Jeeps and are an overall off road shop. I got these at a decent price, and it is tough to not install them, but I want them to be right. I guess I will put these up for sale and start my search for Dana Gears instead.

Yeah $3700 for the initial and then $2100 on round 2 with Richmond dirt track gears

So yeah $3700 pissed away in 12,000 miles

You already have them. Put them in and break them in correctly and it should be fine. That’s what I’d do.

10+ hours of labor on questionable parts is a big gamble.

I'd sell them and let someone else take that risk.

I broke mine in correctly.

Component failure was the issue. The parts are cheap, it's labor that gets you.
