ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) Ready! Aftermarket Retrofit Install

I finally finished the software updates to turn on the ACC in my 2023 JT diesel. Works amazingly well, it took me to a full stop. Has anybody tried to toggle it to 'stop and go' and see what happens?

I was going to do a write up, but I ran across a write up by @DailyDrivenTJ and he is so much better at writes up than i could ever be. If he doesn't have time, i'll try my hand at it. I believe he is about to start the process.

In the mean time, if anybody has any questions i'll do my best to answer them.

With a write up to follow, i'll estimate the following:
Approximate time of hardware install, 120 minutes.
Approximate time of software updates, 30-60 minutes (including DASM calibration)

For us non-diesel guys, what are we looking at? What does the ACC do?

ACC is the Adaptive Cruise Control. It uses the Radar and Camera to Control the Fuel and Braking so you don't collide with the traffic in front of you. It works great in unsteady traffic, and will even bring you to a stop.

Mine will bring me to a full stop and as long as the traffic moves within a few seconds it will go or I can tap the throttle. If it holds (brake) for more than 10-15 seconds it cancels it. Not sure if that is that way it's supposed to work on the Gladiators but in my 2016 Cherokee it would hold forever until I bumped the throttle.

in order to calibrate the dasm, i ended up buying a mongoose adapter at like $500 dollars, a witech subscription $40, and a witech tsp subscription for $35. I should have probably just had the dealership do the calibration and saved some money. I honestly thought the mongoose and witech would replace the secruity bypass, obdlink mx+, and alfaobd.

I have not purchased a new windshield, i don't find it to be that big of an eye sore. Once/if my current windshield breaks i'll switch over to a heated windshield.

I don't have ACC on my 22 JTRD but I DO have the forward facing trail camera. Is that the same one as this?

No, it goes behind the windshield inside thvehicle.

Very cool! ACC was one of the features I wanted but didn’t get on my Gladiator. I may have to start shopping for parts.

does this enable emergency braking? my 2021 has adaptive but its not doing anything unless its activated already

No. Different camera, it’s more a radar system than traditional camera.

If it came with ACC, it should also have the FCW. There should be some settings in the head unit for it. One of the options is Warning Only, which turns off the emergency braking. The ACC uses the camera and radar, while controlling the throttle and braking, to maintain the set distance between the vehicle and objects in front of it. The emergency braking should activate if someone cuts in front of you.
