Maybe a service bulletin. But not a recall. Since it's not a safety issue for the locker to not work. Technically, they recommend never using the locker on the road anyway, so the NHTSA would have no interest in recalling it, unless it gets stuck locked. I think they're getting stuck unlocked, though?Wonder if this will be a recall on this part since they are known to go bad
It could be. The issue some people were having is the locker actually engaging while they were on the road. specifically a few of them were towing.Maybe a service bulletin. But not a recall. I'm pretty sure you just remove the cover and there is one bolt to take it out, and an electrical connection. Someone will correct me if I missed a detail.Does anyone know if you need to remove the diff to replace the sensor like you have to on the JK e-lockers?
Thanks, you are correct! On the JK, the sensor is a real PITA to change. Luckily, not so on the JT/JL.I'm pretty sure you just remove the cover and there is one bolt to take it out, and an electrical connection. Someone will correct me if I missed a detail.
A question on the replacement/repair kit, is this the same sensor which has been failing in the past. Would hope it has been reworked to a sealed/encapsulated device. I am at 22k miles with this being an issue for 12 k miles. Really have zero trust in my local dealer to even diagnose it without a multi week stay at their lot.
