Bumper Reccomendation

Hey! 22 Gladiator Rubi - Looking to get a stubby front bumper for a new winch (probably will go with a quadratec winch)

I need to make sure that there is protection for the sway bar disconnect. Any suggestions?

If it were me…I’d look for a Mopar steel take-off bumper. Remove the end caps and you’ve got the stubby look and keep the DOT crash rating.

There’s a few different ones out there. Some come farther down like the smittybuilt xrc or you can do one that has additional add on skid plate like metalcloak or rockhard I believe… just depends what you like.

To keep the original pan, I second Barnaby's recommendation. Mopar steel or steel stubby takeoff. A mopar steel stubby new is $852. May find it for $799 occasionally. But then you have to get the Winch mount which is a couple hun more. Figure a grand if purchasing new without the winch.

If you shop around, you could find a Mopar steel bumper cheap... I got mine (its a JK Hardrock, but identical) with the winch plate for almost the price of the winch plate alone.

Mopar 3 piece steel bumper for the win. Doesn’t take away from the look like most aftermarket bumpers do, nor is it all big and bulky like most. I hate bumpers that are nearly bigger than the whole front of the vehicle. I go for the simple sleek approach on my rig and recently upgraded to the stock steel one and couldn’t be happier. Plus I love the option to go stubby or not.

I went with the EVO Quarter Pounder. It allows for the disconnect to be flipped up out of the way. You'll have to chop the "tusks" off, but overall, I love the look and reduction in hang up points. Here are some pictures. The Red squares are the frame tusks, the yellow circle is the disco. The next picture shows the stock bumper after the flip and chop because I didn't have the bumper yet.

I have a Rock Hard full width and it has an integrated skid for that.

I really like my LOD bumper and you can choose to get a skid plate that goes down to the frame horns protecting the sway bar.

I have had the full weight of the front end come down on the bumper and all that happened was I needed to touch up the paint.

I went mid-width but they have a Stubby.

I prefer to buy from @Northridge4x4, good prices, rewards program, and you can actually get ahold of a human if you ever need too.
