Payload question for the diesel

Hey guys and gals, Sorry if this has been addressed previously, but I can’t find a definitive answer so far…

I have a ‘21 Rubicon eco diesel, and I am in the midst of some home projects that are going to require moving some paving stones. What is the max payload that I can safely move with the truck? Most answers I see look to be about 1k pounds, is That accurate?

Also, is that 1k pounds the “recommended“ max payload? What could/would happen if I went over that?

TIA for any input, and before I get slammed, I am asking so that I am NOT the idiot on the road Lol.

The official payload for YOUR truck should be on the inside of the driver door frame. Google says 1,200, but check your door.

What happens if you go over? Eh, depends on how far you're driving. 100 ft moving something across a farm field? Nothing. Just sits low, go slow. Long distance, could start wearing on various parts, brakes might be on the mushy side, etc.

In general, don't go over if you can prevent it, but if you have to to move something a short distance, it isn't the end of the world.

If you're going max or over, air up your tires to 38 psi.

Same here for my truck. Lesson here: if you really need to haul something heavy, find a gymnast or horse jockey to drive your truck.

This guy said a mouth full in one sentence. Ignore all of the internet bull crap about payload, follow the door sticker FOR YOUR SPECIFIC TRUCK.
The maxes are advertised numbers for BASE MODELS of each trim level.

Oddly enough, apparently a 2022 Overland is 100 pounds heavier than a 2020 Overland equipped the same way, but with a 10 pound lighter GG windshield as I lost 100 pounds payload when I traded trucks for an identical truck to what I had.

Again- it's a very heavy engine the diesel, and the truck it's a F250 or Chevy 3500.
It's a light truck and the focus was a do-it-all vehicle - keeping it nimble and light for off-roading.

Paid $120 to get 400 pavers delivered last week. 20 miles away and best money I have spent. Came on two pallets and they placed them over a fence for me

If you get In an accident and you go over the max payload/tow cap, you can be fined so be careful

You can haul about 6250 lbs if you use a trailer instead of the bed.

I love the idea of a diesel. I just really wish they made a configuration that allowed for a max tow capacity with the kick butt engine.
