...or both?

I took my brand new Gladdy Mojave on its first road trip. It was only 2 hours which is very mild for my lifestyle. We usually do 8-20 road trips every couple of months. I was 30 minutes into the ride and I felt like I had been driving all day. My butt hurt, kept having to shift weight from side to side, moving legs around trying to displace weight more evenly. I am 6'4" 260 pounds so I was surprised when the stock seat in the Gaddy didnt really sink at all when I sat on it. It makes me think that thing is never going to break in.

Spent some time searching this forum and a few Youtube videos and read varying opinions on whether the leather seats versus cloth seats were better. My Gladdy has the leather. Some people are saying the seats break in after a while, a lot are saying they don't.

I initially considered buying a seat cushion like your grandma used to take with her to the bingo halls, then I started considering weight distribution.

I did read up about the seat jackers from Desert Does It. https://desertdoesit.com/collection...u-and-gladiator-adjustable-front-seat-jackers

So my question is, for those of you in the camp that the Gladdy seats are uncomfortable, was just the angle for your legs? Or was it also that the seat cushions are too firm and make your butt hurt?

Does installing seat jackers help with butt pain by displacing your weight more evenly across a larger surface of your butt and thighs?

Lastly, I would like to hear from the bigger framed guys whether installing the seat jackers made it worse when considering hitting your head on the sound bar and not being able to see stop lights at an intersection.

I don't want to buy seat jackers just to find out it doesnt solve the problem and I don't want to commit to a seat cushion because the last thing I need is to sit even higher in the cab of the Gladdy. I already feel like Marmaduke with my head in the ceiling

Have you adjusted the seat height?
I have a 36” seated height, and I have the seat all the way down, and my head doesn’t come close to the top/soundbar.

With the seat height all the way down and reclined for arm distance, my head rests on the sound bar.

A friend of mine (tall guy) put some kinda seat spacers (perhaps those jackers?) under the front bolts of his seat to adjust the cant. He claims it makes a big difference.

Give the seat jackets a shot. They also sell seat slammers for the rear but it requires you to permanently alter the rear of the seat. So id just try the jackers first. They’re SUPER easy to install.

The seat jackers go a long way towards making the seats more comfortable. But for me, the .75 raise was too much angle… I wish they had a .4-.5” version! Just a lil bit would be good for me.

If you want to try a set, shoot me a PM, I’ll sell the ones I have for a good price ;)
I said the same thing!! Sold my 3/4in ones a while ago and it gave me the perspective to realize i liked the oem seat more than I realized.

i also reached out to the company and they said they couldn’t make anything smaller than 3/4. If I remember right it had to do with the hardware or something failing at smaller sizes.

I second the seat jackers - I got the adjustable ones and use the full height adjustment - made a huge difference for me. That being said, everyone will have different preferences. My wife does NOT like them, so she doesn't have them in her JLU.

edit to add - for me, it was all angle. Firmness wasn't the issue.

The 3/4" seat jackers have made a significant difference in seat comfort for me (I'm 5'11" and 175 pounds).

The first time I sat in the seat after installing the jackers, I thought "what have I done--this is too extreme," but by the next drive, they felt normal. I'm happy with them.

They are expensive for four chunks of metal (I did both front seats), but they're well made and nicely finished. I did have to buy a torque wrench, the correct sockets, a universal joint for my ratchet handle (you'll be dealing with tight spaces and awkward angles), and red Loctite for an additional expense of about $75, but now I have all that stuff.

Once I had the right tools, installation was pretty easy--about 20 minutes per seat.

Don't forget... back the torque setting to the lowest on the torque wrench, you can do damage to it over time if not stored that way.

Thanks--never had a torque wrench before, and I didn't know this.
