Personal preference is going to be the general response.

35’s if you want to stay with OEM spec rpm’s

37’s if you don’t care about losing acceleration/responsiveness.

I can REALLY tell the difference with an Alu-Cab (light one) and 315/70’s, but some folks don’t seem to notice it at that size.

If you weigh a buck-fifty, don’t tow or haul, and don’t have a camper shell, you’ll probably be happy with 35’s.

Keep in mind that this is the internets…folks could fucking hate their setup and secretly think it’s slow as hell, but they aren’t going to admit it.

I do think it's slow as hell. But it was already slow as hell haha. It only became marginally slower. I haul occasionally, but don't tow. It's very hilly here, though. 35s are fine. But I wouldn't go to 37s. My 35s aren't too heavy, but there's of course still the increased diameter which will move you out of the oem powerband in each gear for a given speed. Still, I think weight matters.
One thing I like about 35s in a manual JT is that now I can go a bit faster and stay in the powerband longer in second gear, which makes merging easier. One thing I don't like though is that around town, if traffic slows to a crawl, I have to downshift to first. There's no get up and go at all in second at very low speeds anymore.

For the price spent, 35s are worth it on the stock gears. If someone gave me a few grand for a regear, I wouldn't turn them down, though! But I have no regrets at 35 inches. Off-road, it's absolutely fine because of the 4:1 low range, so I don't even notice a difference there

35s on 4.10s (manual) is what I've often referred to as marginally tolerable. I will not be regearing at this size, but I will definitely not be going larger at this ratio.

Yes, It was no speed demon to begin with, but it’s a noticeable difference.

I notice a significant difference in most vehicles after adding another 250lbs directly on the vehicle….

I noticed a significant difference with a topper and winch on stock 33’s.

I suppose though that since I’m on 35’s, topper, steel bumpers, winch, onboard air and daily drive mine if I say it’s anything but miserable I’m a liar ? ?

The only answer to this question is to sell the gasser and get a diesel.

At the end of the day, mine looks so damn good (lol) that if I run a cost benefit analysis, the tires arent going anywhere. The way I’d put it…I’ll hang onto the JTR take-offs in case I decide to tow a travel trailer anytime soon (before I get around to re-gearing).

As you joked…it’s definitely not “miserable,” but it’s disingenuous for anyone to say “it’s not noticeable” unless they’re snorting a Tony Montana sized portion of “all of the drugs” prior to any drive. In which case…yeah…they probably aren’t going to notice it.

I would agree with that. I definitely noticed the tires and while not near a level warranting a re gearing it is the ceiling in my opinion.

I am running 35's and it did make a difference obviously.

It was never going win a drag race, but wasn't expecting it to.

37” KM3 on 4.10s is fine for me. But, I have a 3 minute, 35 mph daily commute; plenty of torque in 4-low with the 8-speed on the trail; still see 8th at 70 on flat ground. If I was towing, I’d go 5.13s. Power Commander + adjusting the tire size made is negligible for me.
