I still have mine. 28,000+ miles, 21 months of ownership. Lots of hard off-roading and rock crawling. Stock steering stabilizer but aftermarket tierod and drag link. Steering box feels A-OK.

2020 Mojave, stock aluminum box. Sept build date. I installed a 2inch AEV lift with geo brackets at 9k miles. Stock 33” wild peak MTs.

Mine has wandered a little bit since day one(14 miles) but didn’t think much past it being solid axle(it’s my first solid axle daily). Received it with 14 miles in October 2020, and I feel it drives the same now with 31,000 miles. I did set my caster at 6 degrees with the geo brackets when the kit went on.

I tow an Intech camper occasionally at 80mph no problem, Jeep and camper loaded. Never had a dangerous wobble or anything. At most a 1-2 second bump steer when hitting a bump on a turn occasionally. Im on the fence about going in for the TSB since it seems fine and I’ve never had a bad wobble. I’d hate to be denied the steel box once I pass the 3yr/30k mark. I did purchase the 7yr/100k extended tho if that will help me if it happens in the future. I do plan on going 37s next year. Wish I could drive one that has a steel box to compare.

Even loaded like this I feel it drives the same. Steel box might give me peace of mind for the 37s later tho.

Solid axle won't wander, won't matter on decent roads, streets, highways.
Before the WK platform, Grand Cherokees had solid axle. My F250 never wandered.
The steel gear took the wander of my 2020 and my 2022 has decent tight steering, no wander. On a flat road it will go where I want it to.

2020 JTR 2" Mopar + 37" Nitto Grappler since new - 16.4k orig Alum, I had accepted having to pay attention / hands on wheel more than any vehicle I've owned due to medium level of JT road wander.

Figured get TSB done still under warranty. Better handling/less wander no doubt - what I wasn't expecting was a 'transfer' of bumps to feel it more in the suspension vs previously having to steer after bumps. To the point of 4 death wobbles in one morning (another thread).

Now looking into the synergy brace.
What do you mean, you got death wobbles after the new box? Or just the more transfer of the bump to suspension? Maybe before you didn’t feel as much of the bump cuz the steering wheel shook left and right before and you weren’t able to feel the direct impact you feel now that the steering wheel stays more straight? If I’m making sense lol

Noted, might push for a new box then. It’s so minimal tho idk if I’m being picky or if it is wandering a bit. Anyone in Vegas with a steel box that wants to do a test one day? So we can see how much better it is side by side vs my aluminum ?

None of my jeep wranglers I've owned wandered. I've had a YJ,TJ and JKU and none of those had wandering issues. I thought my 2020 JT Max Tow didn't either until I had the steering box replaced. I only did mine because I figured steel is better than aluminum and I was under warranty and the dealership was willing to replace it. After I had mine done the steering wheel was way tighter and I steered way better. I could feel the difference as soon as I got on the street and changed lanes at 50 mph.

My thought on it is that if the aluminum box wasn’t an issue, Jeep wouldn’t pay dealers to replace them for customers free of charge. That should tell you something right there.

I'm on the original box, 46,000 miles, 35,000 were on 35's, steeped up to 37's and added a Steer Smarts brace, Fox ATS, and 8,000 miles.

No issues so far (knock on wood).

I’ve seen you post the November 20, 2021 TSB for the gearbox, do you happen to know if this is the latest? Going to print it out before I go to the dealer.

I have a question about this. Did your dealer insist on keeping it a full day, scheduled 30 days out, just to then only "diagnose" the issue and re-schedule the repair if needed? I only ask because the last line on that TSB clearly states quote- "if the customer describes the sympton/condition above, perform the repair procedure."

Anyone had success getting this done with a aftermarket lift? My 2020 has the aluminum box and they didn’t seem to interested in the TSB when I brought it up. They asked if it was lifted and bigger tires.
my truck seems fine for the most part but I’m almost out of warranty so I thought I might push it a bit more to get swapped.

My dealer said due to my lift (level kit, nothing big) they would not even evaluate it. Hopefully you have a better dealer.

Anything below 3 inches is still covered under warranty according to my dealer when I first bought the truck.
