Can the 2.5” lift work well with stock Rubicon Fox shocks for light off-roading?

How much would a shop charge to install the lift?

Even IF you canm make the OE shocks work with spacers, the spring rates will make the drivebility horrible! The damping charicteristics of the OE Fox shocks are almost adequate for the OE springs, but ride will be rough and wobbly damping the Clayton springs.

The stock shocks would be too short, unfortunately. You can look into a set of shock extensions, however, this will not allow you any additional travel and you will be missing out on some of the benefits of the lift. For best results, we always recommend installing a set of shocks designed for the amount of lift being added!

Install usually takes between 6-8 hours, and shop rates vary of course!

I'm looking to fit 35s on my 2020 max tow, would gladly help with this request. In case it matters I've got the Mopar steel front and rear bumpers, an ARE bed cap, and a winch up front for sag inducers.
Awesome! Reach out to us around March/April for an update!

Thought some of you guys who might not be on social media might like to see how our control arms are milled, a small part in the long process of building our products!

Starting on a JTR build. I will be using the Alu-Cab Canopy Camper, it will also have the water tank, which loaded weighs about 110lb. Will have a fridge, another 75 or so lbs. A Long Range America Aux Fuel tank ( 18 gallons at 6lbs a gallon when full not to mention the weight of the tank) and more than likely Goose Gear inside down the road. Throw in the Battery in the back plus camping gear, propane along with a rear bumper from ARB and a Front ARB Bumper and Warn Winch, etc....etc...you can see where I am going with this. Which of your set ups would you recommend? I will be upgrading brakes and probably regearing when I see how it runs. I do not foresee putting tires larger than 35" and do not want to lift higher than 2 1/2 inches. Living in southwest Georgia I often take rather long road trips to get where I put my vehicles to use camping, fishing, hunting, or prospecting and exploring. So highway performance is a consideration, but not my major one, I am more concerned about how it rides once I get off asphalt.

Hey Jay, I think either our Ride Right or Overland Plus kits would be best for your setup, and as far as springs go you may also want to consider our HD rear springs add-on.

The Ride Right kit is just a slightly stripped-down version of the Overland Plus kit, designed for somebody looking to fit a larger set of tires but does not plan on taking it on any hardcore off-road trails. This kit comes with what we consider to be all of the essentials, being your front upper adjustable control arms, front and rear adjustable track bars, springs, and end links. This will dial in your suspension nicely for on-road and any mild off-road use. If you think you want the capability for more difficult trails, definitely consider the Overland Plus kit as this is the most complete option for a daily driver/weekend warrior style kit, and comes with all 8 adjustable control arms, track bars, bump stop extensions, etc.

Our standard springs are already very capable of handling addition load, about 500lbs or so before starting to sit below level. If you think you will be carrying more than that, our HD springs allow you to carry about 1000 lbs of extra weight before sitting below level.

I'll link both mentioned kits below for you to look at. If you're interested in the HD spring upgrade, just click on the "related items" tab down by the description and select to add the HD Spring Upgrade to cart.

I totally agree on the HD rear springs! I'm just wrapping up my second Alu-Cab JT build with Overland Plus/HD rear springs this afternoon......The HD spring rate can take the weight no doubt.

I run the HD's in my truck as well with a heavy moto in the bed and a 700lb hitch weight RV at times.

Don't forget about proper shock selection and possible custom valving work to control the weight and the rebound caused by the higher spring rates.

Anyone running the 2.5 overland plus kit or any of the 2.5 kits with long travel shocks??? I’m looking at the Falcon SP2 3.5 aDAPT 3.5–4.5” Lift (long-travel). Realize I would need to add spring retainer set or limiting straps in the rear. For now I just want about 3” ish lift and maybe in the future go up..

On my JTRD, I paired the Overland kit with Falcon eAdjust 2-3" lift shocks, and also installed the Terraflex JT: Extended-Travel System (1.5”+ Rear Lift). I bought the extended travel system mostly to relocate the swaybar, but the kit does have spring retention and other bits. Can't say it's done a lot for me, but I also can't say it hasn't. It seems to just work and I'm very happy with the setup. ?

Thanks…for the shocks, I’m torn between the 2-3” and 3.5-4.5” rear Falcon shocks. I don’t think I could go wrong with either set with Clayton 2.5 lift. I gain 2” more travel however loss the same in compressed length..The Clayton kit takes about 1” of rake out, so if I ever want that back or go up in lift height at least I’ll have the shocks.

We are actually in the process of working on 1.5" coils for the rear to complete a 1.5" kit for the JT! The complete production versions of the springs probably won't be available until this Summer, however, in a few months we may be looking for a couple of interested forum members to help us do some testing!
Hey you wouldn’t happen to have any pictures of gladiators with the complete 1.5 kit yet would you?

Got my 2.5" ride right installed, with 37 Milestar Patagonia MT02s. Can't reccomend the lift enough, everything oozes quaility and has greatly improved the ride over the stock sport (Willys) springs. Paired the lift with bilstein 5100s and i've been very happy with it.
