Protecting the Precious

So I have new car anxiety. I park where no one will park next to me. I don't like people touching, breathing on or even really looking too long at my new JT. And definitely don't like my kids getting near it or in it, but that can only last so long . I've owned many Jeeps and Chevrolets but this is my first ever brand new from the dealer vehicle.

I have been pouring over the forum looking for every type of possible surface protection I could find. I would like to hear from anyone who has seen something I maybe have missed based on the below list (jeep = just empty every pocket). Not different brand proposals necessarily but some other type of product.

I'd really like to find a clear film to protect the front grill, fenders, and hood. Husky used to make something I put on a WK2 but no longer see it offered.

Welcome to the JT club, you won’t regret it.
My dealer had installed ceramic coating (properly). I was never sure about ceramics but I have run through all kinds of stuff that previously would leave scratches, including dead cedar tree brush branches and not a single scratch. I am seriously impressed with ceramics and will have it redone this year. Usually good for a couple of years, I had my JT since October 2019, and have 91,000 miles on mine.

Here is a good source for pre-cut paint protection film kits.
Many different choices of what surfaces you want to protect, and two choices of the type of film.

You can also get bulk product for areas you want to protect that they don't have patterns listed for.
They ship very quickly as well.

I installed the Clearmask AR Abrasion Resistant/Hydrophobic film on my 2013 JK 2dr, and was on there for six years before trading it in on the Gladiator. It held up very well, and still looked like it was just applied when I got the Mojave.

I put the same film on my Mojave as it's a proven winner in my book.

I've got the tuxmats in my truck, they've been great. Had weathertec in my titan. These are easier to clean and have a deeper basin to hold more liquid.

Funny thing (for me) is that after a year of everyday ownership, the feeling you described slowly subsided. Then suddenly, compliments and the occasional 'duck' happens! It's amazing the amount of attention JT's garner when it is least expected!

My toddler keeps the back seat area truly filthy. I clean it once a week. Will wet vac the upholstery once we get some warmer weather.

Stick out rock sliders/steps combined with a lift kit do wonders for reducing door dings.

Exactly why I kept the side steps the previous owner added. They're not visually appealing to me, but it lowers the success rate of door dingers. I'll replace the steps with some proper rock sliders as soon as my credit card cools down.

This makes me laugh because I went the other way. I traded in a Sapphire Black BMW M Series convertible that I even dried with a leaf blower. There was not a single scratch on the entire thing. I parked so far away in lots it was a pain. Was always detailing it.

Once I got the Jeep I was excited! I park between everyone not caring how close wash it only every now and then, everyone gets to eat in it and I love a rain storm or dirt. When my wife says ”your trucks dirty”…I reply… so what! It is so liberating after caring for the dang BMW all those years.

It's a truck.

Now my wife's new Wrangler - that's a DO NOT TOUCH!!! type vehicle. Hands off. Oops, it's dusty, what are we going to do?!
Man, I got foot prints on the passenger side floor mat - and now I have to clean it.

With my SX4, I put painter's tape on the aluminum sill plates because last I saw them available - over $400 a pair, and all of the new old stock ones are gone and no one is reproducing them any more.

I TRY with my JT - but it's going to get dirty or some wear on it. It's a truck, and it's become my daily driver.

This right here. Now most vehicle's doors would have to come into contact with at most my slider steps or wheels before they hit the fender or door.
Also on a note, I noticed folks less inclined to tailgate me when I leave my hitch skid installed full time...

I have seen this mentioned on other posts. What exactly do I need to ask for and guessing a good detailing shop may be able to do it as well?
