I feel that with either the Hemi 6.4 or a more likely Chevy 6.2 LT/10-speed, this JT would become one of the best, if not the best on-off roading platforms on the planet. Not my specific JT, but JT's in general with a powerful V8.
I think Motech is just about ready with their JL/JT conversion for the LT/10s .. .they have been teasing it for a while. I know a couple people with the JK conversions.. impressively clean work.

So they are making a light weight AGM then? Or are they making a lithium with an internal charger? I don't see how a lithium even with internal components will work appropriately - the vehicle systems are looking for particular voltages on some things.
This area of technology is advancing rapidly. Most of Lithium batteries these days have a built-in battery protection circuitry. I do know they are sending me a charger to go with the battery, but I believe that is for the times when the bat is severely discharged and needs to be brought back into a range where it can be charged by the vehicle charging system.

I hear you when you hint about the charging circuitry in the vehicle and that required by the lithium. I am acting on the information Braille is giving me. We will certainly know a bunch more shortly. They shipped their F34 unit to me already. Should have it and have it installed shortly.

As to your question about a lighter AGM. Apparently, they do offer lighter-weight AGM batteries as well at a much more affordable price point. We have however opted to showcase their "lead-the-fleet" unit in this build because it really cuts the weight.

Concur-
They seem to have that just about sorted. If you opt for the 5.3, you're still looking at around 400 ft/lbs with some tuning and 20+ mph in their test mule. With that very excellent GM 10 speed, the motor is kept in the middle of its sweet spot almost all the time.
As much as I dislike being critical of the Hemi, it is just not as well-developed as the LS/LT. Offered in a conversion, you're not getting multiple displacement, nor Chamber injection, just old-school stuff Chevy and Chrysler started using over 20 years ago. So you're gonna give up some miles per gallon. The LT is lighter as well, and the aftermarket is chock full of parts, whereas the Hemi is maybe 50% as well developed.
I noticed one swapper when using a GM LS in a jeep, simply turns the motor into a Hemi! Even changes its firing order. They dumb down the LS to make it work with the Chrysler computer and harness. That is all done to save bucks.
But the Motec conversion you mention uses a GM harness, and full engine features as were available as of 2023. You get a simpler conversion that weighs less, makes more power, has two more gears in the transmission, and can get over 25 mpg.
So all things considered, it is by far the better choice. For me, the timing of such a radical change will be some time down the road. Now whether that is a mile or two or 50,000 miles is what is in question. But with all things, this will sort itself out...

interesting. I have suspicions but will wait until we hear of your experience. I know is lithium cannot take the same charge profile as AGM, so unless they have a DC/DC internal to the battery I dont see how it is expected to work right. Please do post up your results.

Wilco-
I'm about as smart about these Lithium batteries as, well kinda reminds me of what an instructor pilot said to me when I jumped into my first all-glass cockpit, "You seem kinda like a pig lookin' at a wristwatch..." Well, that about sums it up.

But, since I never did have any common sense in the first place, why start now? sez the warrant officer.

The best way to get some answers is to just grab that battery and jump into the deep end of the pool and see what shakes out. For sure we will have some actual data in the coming weeks. Now if I just disappear and am never heard from again, well, guess it didn't work ;-)

Today I installed the auto start/stop module. Its a pretty easy install that was the last part of the aux battery delete. Now the primary battery only starts the motor once during a cycle, not 8-10 times.

Pull the trim panel, locate the harness, unplug and insert the module, zip tie in place and you're done.

Go drive normally and the ESS is as gone as common sense in the government!

The ESS off command light remains on, and no new dash lights have shown up

Man, I don't know what I was doing wrong, but today I did a couple hundred-mile drive and got 18.8 MPG! That's way good for my lifted truck. I drove the highway at a cruise controlled 65 mph and got passed by everyone, and I mean EVERYONE. Wish I had a picture, but this Wheezing Chevy passed me towing another little SUV, that, no kidding, was also towing a trailer with another SUV on it!!! I wouldn't have believed anyone could be that stupid if I hadn't seen it for myself.

Anyone wanna lose more weight? By installing a light weight Lithium battery?

I topped it up with the Braille Lithium battery only charger. It was either near full or the thing charges fast...

Nice. Looking forward to your long term results on this battery, especially how it does in the colder months. I have a Lithium in my motorcycle, but as soon as it's below 50 on a regular basis the battery gets pulled and the bike goes into storage for the winter.
