I have a 2021, with a Magnuson S/C that was installed at the dealer when the truck had 7500 miles, now has 22,500. it Adds 0 value when trading, but not sure it’s worth spending the money/time removing it either. Any idea of what it’s worth used?

I'm surprised it's not a value deduction for a trade frankly. But I imagine uninstall will probably run you around the same install did which I'm guessing is around 2k. System is worth 8 brand new. Used means no warranty which is dicey. I imagine you'll eventually find a buyer at half price, but when you deduct your removal costs and your time invested finding a buyer will it be worth 2k? That's a question only you can answer.

For future endeavors, here's a bit of math to look back on

Traded in with S/C: 15000 miles, $10000, $700 more in premium gas. That's 71 cents per mile your supercharger cost you beyond the cost of the vehicle excluding salvage value, tax, registration, insurance, and regular gas.

Traded in NA and sold S/C for 4k after 2k uninstall: 15000 miles, $10000, $700 gas, recoup $2000. 58 cents a mile just to be supercharged.

I'm not saying don't have fun with your vehicles, I'm just saying make sure you LOVE them before you dump serious money on upgrades.

Life's too short to do all that math. It's just dirty paper! ;)

Probably worth about half of new.

I'd try to sell it with the supercharger still installed and try to get a few extra dollars out of it because of the supercharger. Sometimes someone will pay for mods.

Sorry, I’m not a “keep track of gas prices” person. I have no idea what gas even costs as I see it as a necessity, and just fill up.
That being said, it was worth spending the money to have a truck that could merge into traffic, I knew it would be a loser going in. It was either that, or buy a different truck. It’s getting replaced with a rubitrux 392, so the s/c cost is almost painless compared to the 392 swap. I was surprised it wasn’t a deduct either, but I have a few dealers with solid offers to buy it outright as/is just was not sure if it was worth pulling so someone else got a deal vs the dealer getting it for free, then using it to justify a high price.

But the math never lies about reality. What @Rahkmalla says is true.
ok next he should do tires and wheels and lifts and racks and RTTs and everything else everyone adds to their Jeeps. We know it ALL adds up. It’s all about smiles per miles. :)

I've got about 11k into my jeep post purchase. Again, i'm not saying don't spent the money. I'm saying make sure your money is spent with intent. That 11k has lasted 15k miles and i expect it to spread out over another 110k minimum.

8.8 cents on addons a mile beats 71 cents a mile on addons any day of the week. AND i get more smiles per mile knowing i can take my jeep out for a pleasure cruise whenever I want.

The point is to not be ignorant of it down the road that there may be costs that cannot be recuperated either whole or partial.

Oh I thought this was common knowledge already.

You would think. This is not against the OP per-say but there was another thread recently by another member asking about sale value of his used modified JT that also had a Super Charger. He also got advice that was not advantageous because of the sunken costs of his Super Charger on whether it added value to any degree to cover it. Sage advice was given but feelings got hurt.

No one is not saying it is wrong to modify but many times people have a skewed or misconception of what does or does not add value and/or marketability of selling with said options installed. Super Chargers for this application are a mix bag.

You are assuming 8.8 cents based on long time usage. If someone hits you and totals it Tomorrow, you're above the 71 cents, so you never know.

I figured the S/C added no resale value, and was most likely a deduct. I just know I get no extra, but when it goes on the market the dealer will use it as a reason to ask more. Just like any other mod, dealer buying says worth 0, but dealer selling wants extra. I figured if there was someone looking for a S/C and does not want to spend $10k, is it worth exploring? Does not sound like it is worth the hassle. If someone in the Baltimore area wants to pay a shop to remove it and put mine back to stock, they can have it.
