How long did your windshield last before cracking?

13 months….maybe 13k miles…dealer is checking to see if gorilla glass warranty applies.

I made it just about one year and roughly 15K miles. Jeep warranty did not apply as it was an L shaped crack about 14 inches long in the lower right corner. Might have had a couple rock chips along the crack, but they were really really really small so hard to say. Insurance bought me a brand new OEM replacement Gorilla Glass and all. Looks great again for ????

Well...it happened. 18mo and almost 18k miles. Seems a decent run compared to others. Gorilla glass, 2021 willys

Insurance has 0 deductible for safelite repair. Or $50 if safelite can't repair and needs to replace. Should i consider other options?

I had my GG windsheild replaced by Safelite. They used an OEM GG replacement windsheild (including the easter egg jeep in the corner )

Mine took a hit less than mile from the Hole in the Rock trailhead. I was around 51k miles.

Made it 2 days into that trip when the chip turned into a north/south crack.

Getting it replaced next week. Had a recommendation to get Exoshield film installed so I think I’ll give it a shot Instead of the gorilla glass.

Feel fortunate that I evaded it for this long.

Here in Fl using your "free" safelite repair is a claim event. Costs you over time on rates. I stopped claiming windshields 5 years ago. After 3 the rates really dropped. I didnt understand this till i was shopping all insurance with an agent and he asked why i had 7 claims in prior 5 years. I-4 is a windshield killer. Anyway. Fyi only. Rates are impacted using safelite as it is a claim.

I got several quotes like that and slightly higher in my area as well as "we're too busy with tinting in the summer, call us in the winter". Just dropped it off in a smaller town 1 hour away and having it done for about $300 which I thought was fair for a pro job. I feel better already. Made it 2000 nervous miles without chip or crack.

Considering the DIY kit is $200 add $100 for install and that seems reasonable. Hell $150 for install seems reasonable but $300 for install seems excessive.

I’m just so tired of inflation/shrinkflation that I don’t want to justify $499.…. I don‘t even want to go to Subway anymore now that footlongs are $13.

I remember when those type of Subway prices were reserved for airports. Considering I live less than half a mile from the most southern part of Vegas it becomes an issue of value proposition. Is any sandwich from Subway really worth $13?

I could order 2 DIY kits and give it a go myself for less than a Subway foot long…….I mean……..less than the quoted install price I got.

8 months, 16k miles original gorilla glass. It's still in chip stage but it's big enough it will crack so I'm trying to find a regular shop to fix it this week.

27 months with no cracks or chips. I back off from any big truck in front of me on the road. Dodged the bullet Monday when a dump truck passed in the opposite direction and kicked up a stone that smacked my windshield. Luckily no crack.

Purchased my JTR on June 20, 2020, got a star chip within the 1st 6 months that I had filled within a couple hours of getting it and the windshield has been like that ever since. So I guess you could say I have gone 49 months and 30K miles without having to have my windshield replaced.
