Looks great! Adam at Elevation is awesome :like:
It was on Adam's advice that we went with this kit over some of the others we were looking at. We are so glad we did! Adam is top notch and always steers us in the right direction.

What are my options if I want to run 3.5 Overland + kit that DOES NOT have the front end rake? I don’t want to run a leveling kit and rather have the coils make up for the rake in the front. I have a JTR with stock steel bumpers and a warn winch.

The kit has rake (see pic), which is great if you are "overlanding" with a bed full of gear or towing a trailer. I am wondering if you used the 3.5 front springs and 2.5 rear springs if it would sit level? I got more like 4" front and almost 5" of rear lift empty (keeping in mind I have a full length front bumper and winch, steel rear bumper, skid plates, and AMP steps). Loaded for a trip, it sits quite level.

Hey Don,

Trying to perfectly level any vehicle using only coil springs is such a difficult thing to try and accomplish, as it would be almost impossible to design a one size fits all system that perfectly levels every JT the kit is installed in. There are so many variables like added weight from accessories, different models that weigh more, passenger weight, etc. that all change the amount of rake you're going to have on the vehicle with or without a lift. It also can cause issues for a lot of customers as perfectly leveling out the vehicle means there is no room for passengers or added weight in the bed before the rear starts to sit below the front and the headlights are pointing up into the sky.

Instead, what I always suggest is to get the kit installed that you want to use, measure how much rake is left, and install a small spacer to get you the rest of the way there, or even slightly under so again you have some wiggle room when adding weight. Our kits remove a good bit of the factory rake about an inch or more, and we also use a slightly higher spring rate that is able to withstand weight a lot better than some other options on the market. Also, since our kits are fully adjustable, if you do end up throwing in a small spacer you can still perfectly correct geometry and make any necessary adjustments for the amount of height added, so no need to worry about the spacer throwing off ride quality.

Hope this helps!

Can't jump on this deal, as I'm still waiting for the rear Dana 5.38 set and will do the gear swap and add e-lockers. I will definitely jump on the next sale!

For rake, I actually like a bit of it when unloaded, so this lift will fit my taste perfectly. Already told the "war department" that 40's-42's will be necessary when I'm done, especially with the chopped rubi fenders I'm running (37's already look small). I've been cleared in hot when the time comes

I think that kit will work for me. No plans to permanently mount anything like a rack or rooftop tent so I may just have to get the leveling kit.

I'm really looking at the 3.5" overland+ for my rig - stock Willys, narrow axle (not max tow). On your website it says "proper backspacing" required, but I'm not sure what that means. I read earlier in the thread "4.5 minimum", but I'm unsure what that means, since like AEV Salta wheels (what I'm looking at for the lifted glady) have a +25 mm offset, with 5.72" backspacing - 5.72 is greater than 4.5, but on visualizers, it looks like with 35"x12.5" tires there's not much difference in where the tire ends up (i know the hub of the wheel moves out, so it creates clearance inside the wheel itself, but wouldn't the tire still rub?

I'm a noob at this stuff, so I'm probably asking a dumb noob question here.

I have 0MM offset (5" BS) on 17x9's with 37x12.5's with this kit...so far no rubbing. Clayton's front LCA's have a "curve" built into them to aid tire clearance where some other brands do not. Just another plus in the overall design of the kit.

Hey there!

4.75" is actually our recommended minimum, and Rubicon models with the wider axles can actually get closer to 5" without any rubbing. Stock wheels would require about a 1.75" wheel spacer to work properly without any rubbing, and is how we have one of our JLs set up here!

We are actually in the process of working on 1.5" coils for the rear to complete a 1.5" kit for the JT! The complete production versions of the springs probably won't be available until this Summer, however, in a few months we may be looking for a couple of interested forum members to help us do some testing!
Anymore word on this kit yet?
