I’m currently insured with All State. My rate will go up next month so I began to shop around and so far GEICO is my best option, I’m waiting to see their price for my 17’ 3000 lbs travel trailer.
State Farm will not insure my 2021 Willys eco diesel Gladiator!!
No reason was provided.
What is the over riding fear of a Jeep Gladiator that makes State Farm wet their pants and cry like a little girl?
Insurance companies MUST provide reasons for rate increases and for cancelling. If your request the reason and they refuse to provide it, you need to file a complaint with your State's Attorney General's Office and with the Better Business Bureau. Insurance companies also rely heavily on YELP reviews, so leave a one star review with reason - dropped me for no reason and would not provide reason.

Thanks, I’ll look in to it!

Yelp reviews? A big national stock or mutual company?
Most use it to find a local business near the searcher. Roughly 1/3 of users actually hit Yelp to socialize. Yeah, a study was done.

I also don't totally trust YELP reviews because studies show that for the exact same business. YELP is almost always more negative. That business may get a 4.6 on FB or Google but only 4.3 on Yelp. Hmmmm, fishy, and hard to trust. Maybe it's because people who are mad (anyone here?) are going to jump on yelp and give a negative - it's the sort of user, psychology, the sort of person who uses yelp is more likely to demand big attention while it's more even-handed in other review sources.
When there's a big discrepancy like that, I tend to ignore the source that's the most negative.

It's not the state AG - it's their insurance division you would contact. The AG will refer you back to the state - in our case, the Iowa Insurance Division, the Iowa Insurance Commissioner. And it would go from there.
Rate increases are simple - it's really easy to show that so don't expect you will get any pleasure or satisfaction as in a "gotcha!" bit against the company. Unless they up yours and not others in the same class, they can so easily prove the reason for the increase. It's not like utilities where rates are tightly regulated and they must ask permission. They pull out their actuary tables, point to the facts and they are done giving a reason.
They can cancel as long as it's along the lines spelled out in your policy. If they deem you too high a risk, they can cancel and show your history and then you are done. You can't sue over that unless they violate a term spelled out in your policy.
Better read the fine print. It's a contract, and yes, they can cancel and they can raise rates.
As I say in other places - there's always more to a story than what gets posted in forums or reviews.

I was not dropped, just got a healthy increase.
Look around - you aren't alone. There's good reasons for increases (well, good from a business standpoint)
I'd bet a steak dinner you were NOT singled out and everyone in that class and perhaps LOCATION took a healthy hit as well.
You should see the complaints in other places, other forums, etc. - there's been some real hikes this past 12 months, especially the last 6 months. With inflation hitting 9%, why would you be shocked to see insurance going up perhaps at a similar rate?
We took a healthy increase ourselves. So did my son in FL, and if you look around, so did thousands of others.

We could go back a few years to an election year and paraphrase something about "it's the economy................ " LOL
Did the cost of a Gladiator not go up about 6K? Yeah, and that comes out to probably 8% or so, so why would insurance for that vehicle with a price that went from 56K to 62K MSRP not also go up?
Is it still just as cheap to fix or replace it as it was last year or the year before?
New vehicle prices have skyrocketed - any company that covers replacement cost is gonna really be hurting if they don't up rates.

New and used vehicles up by thousands in the past year - yet insurance can't go up?

Wiring harness for a piece I restore used to cost me 40 from one vendor, 45 from another.
Today, that exact same part - IF I CAN GET IT - is 69 bucks. IF I can even get it! (yeah, there's still supply issues)
And someone will likely bitch if I raise my prices. I'm supposed to eat that?
A repair that 2 years ago may have cost $2300 may now cost $2800+ and insurance companies are supposed to eat that?

Sorry, I don't see the problem here.

MAYBE, having been in business myself in various capacities, and my brother and I both having worked in and with insurance industry, maybe I see things different, different perspectives.

Maybe people also aren't doing any research or reading outside of forums -

Car insurance rates have gone up an average of $240 nationwide!
Sorry, but as General Zod said "you are not alone"

I looked into AARP's purported best auto insurance for seniors when I had a 2000 Wrangler. I can't remember (duh!) which company it was but it started with an "H". Heritage or Heath..something? They had a policy of not insuring Jeeps period. Frankly, I was offended!

I’ve had state farm Ins. For 17 years and have had no real problems. 2 windshield claims only in 17 years though. A couple of years ago my insurance actually went down a little. When I traded my Chrysler 300 for the 2022 Jeep, which was 6 years older I called before making the deal and it went up $50.00 every 6 months with same coverage.
I couldn’t believe that was all. Yes it went up a little this year but look at the inflation. What hasn’t gone up ? We have had 4 vehicles and a home insured with State Farm and so far so good ?

have been away from this thread a couple of days then had a thought, lost it and now it is back again. I’ve been with State Farm since oh 1986 (great discounts just on longevity). Anyway my agent would always explain why something was covered or not covered. did the agent have a reason? i Might not like the reason but I was given one.

I asked and I was not given a reason.
They would Insure the wife’s Nissan Sentra and the RV only.

Yep...insurance rose as vehicles values went through the roof. I don't have a loan on my 23 JTR, but I still have keep full coverage with a high deductible.

Inflation is the worst it has been in decades. Look at the smaller items, then adjust to larger purchases. Here in South Kalifornia, the regular price a 2 liter of Coke before shutdowns - $1.00. Now, it's $3.00. Electric rises every year, water rates rise every year, insurance will too. Home costs are astronomical (house around the corner, 2k sq ft - $950k...and I'm 20 miles from the beach!). I won't even do the math to calculate that ludicrous payment.

That said, shop around...if you can't find a better price you eat the cost. No choice.

Maybe the noted that my gladiator has three tags identifying it as an “FJB Edition”?

2 windshields from pebbles in Florida and one windshield from a pebble in Montana on my way to Alaska. No teens, no DUI, I‘m. 77 years old.
They would not insure my wife and I because we had too many windshield claims in our history. I bet that's the reason.
