My dealership knows (because I visit them each week) how late (15 weeks and counting) that my JTD order hasn't been even started yet (accepted March 31).

Was talking to them last night, and they offered me this at what I think is a really good price (MUCH lower than what is stated on their website):

https://www.shottenkirkcdjrgranbury...high-altitude-4x4-crew-cab-1c6hjtfg7pl553301/

Anyway, I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about taking their offer, but, I have a few reservations.
1) Not a diesel, has the tow package, but not sure how High Altitudes are for towing.
2) Doesn't have the Trail Management system with 115v 400w outlet in the bed or lockable storage under the seat.
3) Doesn't have the Auxillary switches like I ordered on my JTD.
4) Has Rock rails which I'll have to replace (I'm vertically challenged).

I can add most of the stuff (not sure about the Aux switches), but my main concern is how well the High Altitude tows.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Not as well. Just keep what you have. Why would you consider it?

Considering it because we don't know if our JTDs will ever get built.

If they want to make the sale the dealership can install the aux switches.

Better options for the bed outlet can be had from the aftermarket.

Trail rails in the bed (or aftermarket options) are an easy install.

Tow rating is the same on the high altitude with the tow package and the diesel, plus it has the wide-track axles (though still with 3.73 gears).

Just depends on what you want

There are aftermarket options for the AUX switches.

I have the OEM AUX switches and wish I had saved that money. I ended up installing an 8 gang set up from AUXBeam and its way better. Its solid state, can make configuration changes from your phone with the app, its loaded with features. I would not let this option steer you out of a pretty sweet deal.

Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09MRT5QHP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And its 25% off right now, $240 is a killer value and more features then the OEM AUX switches

Just my 2 cents, hope it helps...........because making a truck payment on something you can't drive is bananas........especially for almost 4 months now.

Kind of weird to see rock rails and bumpers that aren't paint matched on a High Altitude.

The High Altitude has a 6k tow rating like your 2023 Overland. The HA does have the wide axles as LouisvEarlleJT mentioned, so in theory could be more stable, but doubt it's very noticeable if at all.

My guess is the dealer had some take off's from a Ruby that was upgraded to after market bumper and rails, so they thought hey we can throw these on this HA and get a higher price....

Actually, those are listed on the window sticker as the capability group.

Anyway, I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about taking their offer, but, I have a few reservations.

Same situation but from the perspective of having one and the HPFP crapped out.

I tow a 16' (12' box + 4' neck) open utility trailer that weighs 2000 pounds and can hold another 6000 pounds. The tow rating on the diesel is 6600 pounds and 7000 pounds on my new 2023 JTR gasser. The diesel towed without issue and so does the gasser in North Texas and the surrounding areas. If I'm going to tow anything serious, I go get my 2500, period.

As for your questions...

1) The diesel Rubicon is rated for 6600 pounds and the gas is 7000 pounds.
2) The trail management and lockable undersea storage components can be purchased from the parts counter.
3) My JTR did not come with the Aux switches. $430 at the parts counter and I now have Aux switches installed. Start to finish, it took a few hours. You could work this into the deal.
4) Pick your favorite side steps and swap them out.

I wouldn't hesitate to take the offer if it is good enough and to your liking.

Right now, you can get 1.9% financing through Chrysler Capital.

Having had a diesel and now having a gasser, it took a few days to get used to it and I really like it.

I heard Stellantis will discontinue diesel option for JT. It might be the last chance to get a JTD.

Assuming it gets built, delivered and the HPFP recall gets implemented.
