I just added 37” Ridge Grapplers to my JTM, all I’ve done is used the AEV Snap ProCal that came with the spacer lift. My performance is relatively unchanged, my mileage is the same. I love it! I have the right amount of clearance for most anything I would attempt now. Here is pick from yesterday’s trip, I’d accidentally slowed down a bit while taking the pic, but had been running 70.

Other then not seeing 8th gear will it cause any damage or wear and tear on the vehicle?
Ball joints and wheel bearings, but you are already on heavy 35's so not going to be a huge difference. I'd still give them a try and if you dont like them just re-sell. Unless you are doing a lot of hills/towing you really wont see a huge difference in overall performance because the automatic does a great job of finding gears (within reason of course, on 39's and beadlocks there was just too much for too little torque with out a regear)

I daily'ed 35's with the stock 3.73 gears for some time and it wasn't great but manageable. I now have 37's Nitto Recon's with 5.13s and there is a difference in drivability. The gears made up for the diameter and then some on the drivability and transmission gear selection, but there is a noticeable difference on the feel of the steering and brakes. My PS pump just isn't quite up to the task, and I can "feel" the tires muscling the steering components on back roads at speed. 90% of the time, it is not noticeable but 10% of the time it is very noticeable.

I am looking into steering upgrades in the near future.

so first up i would recommend you not listen to the majority of the milkshakes on this forum saying you have to re-gear. Is it necessary NO!

I have 37 Falkens AT3W's and ran with no-regear for a while with no issues. if you use your jeep as a daily and getting to work involves tackling mountains, rocks and major elevation changes sure get a re-gear but I'm sure by daily you mean driving on paved roads and going through the local Starbucks so no re-gear. If you have a Tazer that should be enough

Some pics of mine with the Mopar lift w/h a 3/4 spacer in front and after with the RSI cap

I did re-gear with 4:88's as i am on flat land

I have 37 x 13.5 Ridge Grapplers, Max Tow package, 4.10's. I am very happy with the daily driving performance an fuel economy. I average 18.5 MPG city and highway combined, with 80 to 85% highway driving.

Been daily on 37s for over 2yrs and 70,000 miles now. I'm also on the Mopar lift. Been on the mopar lift for 4yrs and now have 148,000 miles on my jeep. I tow, haul, offroad, and rockcrawl with this current setup. I regeared initially to 4.88s, but now have 5.38s and lockers.

You'll have a little more tire which means more to absorb shock but it won't change to where you might notice it. Shocks and springs change that.

You'll be fine with the change. Just regear to help with everything else.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I’ll probably just stick with 35s then. I really don’t want to have to regear. I’m really not sure how much longer I will keep my jeep. I was only looking at going 37s because I have a friend with a brand new set of 37x12.5x20 37 falken wildpeak at3w, that he’s going to sell me for a 1,000 since he sold his jeep. My nitto grapplers have held up well, over 70k miles on them. Only replacing because of the cracks in between tread.
How much would new 35s cost? 1000 is pretty cheap these days for tires. I dont think you need to regear I see 8th all the time Im at 23mpg. You can see my build and travels in the links in my sig.
I think if you are trying to sell it then you might be able to get a bit more money with 37s than with 35s if you can sell it to a kid who only knows 37s are better than 35s and wont care about ride quality and rubbing etc. With that being said you might be able to just sell your jeep as is with the cracked 35s....... question to you is will you get more than 1000$ if you throw on tires. If so you are money in the bank and you help your friend offloading tires. If you aren't going to get another 1000$ from the new tires then the math says no.

If you’re honestly contemplating 35s vs 37s. Just go with k02s in 37s. They are basically a big 35 if you know what I mean. I dd mine and it’s fine. I’m on stock 4.10s. A regear will be happening for me in the not to distant future, but I want to go to a legit 37 or 38. And I’m also starting to get into a fair amount of wheeling so I think it’ll be worth it for me.

I have the Falken Wildpeak in 37s and also have the mopar lift on my Rubicon. Mines also my daily driver and it rides really nice. Better than stock. The tires are great, not loud at all.
I love these statements, better than stock, really on 37's and a lift better than stock. I guess better if you prefer a rougher ride, LOL! I have lifted a ton of vehicles over the years and non are a better ride once lifted and then throw on aggressive tires:facepalm:

No regear on my 2020 Max Tow and I get around 17.2 to 17.4 average on mine most of the time. Never under 17 for the most part unless I'm idle for a extended period of time. I drive mine sensible and keep it between 68 and 75 for the most part on the interstate and I do about 5 miles over the speed limit in and around town. I don't floor it on take off either. Been running 37's for over 2yrs now. Ran 35's in a BFG KO2 for the first 10 months on ownership then swapped to Goodyear Kevlar 37's. I had Kanati trail hogs on in 37's before I just switched to the 37 12.5 17 Yokohama Geolander X-AT. Never had a problem with any of the tires I've ran so far. The Geolanders seem quieter than any of the other ones I've ran but other than the Goodyear Kevlar, the other tires were quiet as well.

I got a 2.5 inch Readylift SST lift kit in my with Rubicon Takeoffs suspension as well. I spent a lot of time thinking about my setup so I could get the most MPGs out of Jeep once I swapped to 35's and then 37's that's why I went with the full width bumper and found a winch bumper combo under 150lbs. Also went with a lighter 37 ad well and lighter wheels. Mine rides good and feels great on short or long trips, wouldn't say it's better than stock but it's a good ride for having a lift and larger more aggressive tires. Swapped to 35's second day of ownership and lift on the 3rd day.

As far as is it a bad idea, that's for you to decide. It was a good idea for me because I wanted it and I love the look. Performance will take a hit but if you find a lighter 37, 4.10 gears are fine. I still see 8th gear most of the time in mine unless I'm doing over 90 in it. I live in the foothill/ Piedmont section of NC so it's not flat where I'm at and I normally take a monthly trip to the Blue ridge mountains around the Asheville area And we average around 18.2 mpgs when we go up there.

Here is video of mine this morning and a few pictures of it.

Depends which way you look at it, I hated the stock suspension. Was way to soft for my liking. Mine feels better with my lift, I wouldn’t say it’s rougher by any means.

They’re all terrain tires and aren’t aggressive. And if the components are better, why would it not ride better than stock?

Unless you had MT's on your jeep before putting the All terrains on then they aren't going to ride better than the street tires that were on it. Now if you had a MT then ok. If you lift it then that is going to allow air to get under it which is going to throw the already non aerodynamics of the jeep off more. If it would ride better lifted and on All terrains then the overland would come lifted with all terrains on it.

If you ask 100 people on this site you will get 100 different answers. There your buddies tires tell him to let you try them for 2 weeks if you like them great give him the money if you don’t like them buy new set of whatever tires you want and give him back the tires… no regrets either way.

He can take some pictures on your jeep and help him sell the tires if you don’t want them.

It’s a win win
