With gasoline at $5.00 a gallon and diesel over $6.00, why wouldn't people obsess about MPGs?

I just got new tires for my JT. I was tempted to get 35s, but didn't want to kill my MPGs or switch out the gears.
Currently seeing Diesel prices in Las Vegas under $4, and less than Mid Grade Gas prices.

That Jeep wave thing. ?✌?I like waving to people getting out of their jeeps in the parking lot. “Do I know you?” Yeah, we dated the same girl in high school.?

Just because i can take my doors and tops off doesnt mean i want to, i hate the wind on the highway.

Hearing from the group of guys who think you need to buy every mod out there to be cool or to do trails. Yes i have modified my Jeep, after research, testing it stock, looking at what I want to do with it and learning from the mistakes i made on my Tacoma listening to those "you need this" guys.

Personally, I don't see the point of owning a Jeep if you don't Offroad. I think there are many better vehicles to own if you only drive on the street.
I forgot about all those other convertible pickup trucks on the market...

I wouldn't say that people are using their vehicle incorrectly... People can use their vehicle however they wish. Just like they can build them however they want, angry grilles included haha. It's theirs to do what they want with. Personally, I don't see the point of owning a Jeep if you don't Offroad. I think there are many better vehicles to own if you only drive on the street.

It's similar to buying a high end sports car and never driving it fast. You are paying a premium for that vehicle to perform a certain way and you aren't utilizing it. On top of that, the suspension is stiff, tires are expensive, maintenance is expensive, etc etc. Do what you want, I just don't get it.
It's quite funny to me to hear maintenance is expensive on a solid axles jeep. That is like all the other people telling me that it will leave me stranded. My experience is the opposite of both of them things. I can give a complete list of everything I've had to replace on my LJ that has 255000 miles on it. My Comanche has very little to replace (other than misconduct by people) but suffering from rust. To much time in snow belt and salty areas. What I've actually seen is reliability from Jeeps. A early selling point otherwise was that I knew I didn't need a fast or sports car, I had a few. Yeah, I have drove fast cars. I got a speeding ticket in Europe in my Comanche, not a cheap ticket. Luckily I had slowed down some. FYI: my XJ was for off-roading and breaking, damn I do need to get around to them again. ?

On the "Jeep wave" or really any vehicle what not. I wave not just to other people in Jeeps and look for other Jeeps. It's just a thing from where I grew up for one and places I've been. The other is that you will pay more attention to driving when you are looking around not at a damn phone or something. It's Situational awareness....
It might be due to spending time in places that people have wanted to shoot at me too. ? ?‍♂
Not many of the prior service decals or flag stuff on my Jeeps.... C.I.B. is about it.

The curmudgeon in me is coming out now.

Maybe this is not exactly unpopular, but it is extreme cringe to see grown men posting about how they begged their wife for permission to buy their Gladiator and/or mod parts.

If all other financial responsibilities are being covered and it is reasonable to budget for it, should not be a permission thing.

My unpopular opinion - those stupid decals people plaster all over their Jeeps of Military logos, American flags and the Molan Labe stuff. You’re not a bad ass. You’re a doughy middle aged man (as am I)

It’s just like all the bad ass Harley guys who are dentists in real life, or just living out some Hells Angel fantasy.

Just stupid looking.
Maybe some of us are proud we served in the military. Just saying. And I am not doughy at all.

You don't buy a Jeep for good MPG's, I actually did. I went from 10-11 MPG in my Ram 2500 to my Jeep which currently is 18-20 pending where I am traveling. Much better for my work commute!!!

Ooooh, my list is long, but here are a few from the top of my list:

Bath toys are for children.

Angry eyes shouldn't be put on anything.

Same goes for Grumpers.

Pretty much any part from Amazon is a bad idea...with the exception of some soft goods and maybe a mesh top.

"Death wobble" needs eliminated from the English language. It's used to describe any vibration now and act like it's a major problem. Balance and rotate your tires people.
