V8 would cannibalize the Ram 1500 sales—very much doubt we will see it from the factory.
Ram Rebel with a 5.7 is a 63k truck
Rubicon hardtop auto 3.6 is a 56k truck

charge 7k for the 5.7 on a rubi (which only costs 3k for the Ram) and you've got a 63k rubicon "cannibalizing" sales from a 63k 1500 with 4k more built in profit.

And you sure as shit know they'd charge more than 7k for that engine, just because they could.

I think this may have been an accidental upload of the future site that should have not seen the light of day until after the Sept show that announces the 2024 JT refresh.

Jeeps needs to desperately compete with the Ranger Raptor, Chevy/GMC Bison variants, and the new Tacoma.

The 5.7 would be fantastic. Much better than the 3.6 and not as expensive as the 392.

A full 5.7 Mojicon XR would definitely sell well for Jeep.

Didn't jeep mess up a long time ago and let something called the Hercules slip to the media. Maybe this is it.

Thats the ticket-- a Mojave suspension with a front locker, sway disconnects, sitting on factory 37's with a 5.7L Hemi V8 might be the very last pickup many of us would ever buy. Surely it would be a $80K MSRP Gladiator, but what else would you **need** to do to it besides adding a stupidcharger?

The only way I can see Chrsylantis doing something that cool is if they dumped the Pentastar for the detuned Hurricane, put it in most of the trucks alongside the 4XE getting the CAFE fleet numbers up to offset the 5.7L. Chances are they would do this with the high output Hurricane before the V8 but that V8 just sounds so damned good.

While yes, this would be expensive, think about the amount of people paying SIGNIFICANTLY ($30,000 minimum + MSRP of Gladiator) more to swap their current gladiators. A factory option would be eaten up and would take away from Ram Sales.

I just picked up a used 2013 wk2 with the 5.7l. This thing is a turd! I'm not sure if it is the 6 speed bogging it down but I'm not impressed. I'm sure if it was an option, it would be detuned to make the EPA happy like someone else said.
