Must be very recent. Tried to buy one 4 weeks ago and nobody would sell me one.
There was a post in the stop sale thread that someone successfully put an order in for one a couple weeks ago, curious if they’re only doing orders which honestly makes the fact that if the 24 isn’t going to have it really odd

I ordered a diesel Aug 14th. The dealer said he expects it will be ready around December. I’m happy to wait for it.

also a gentleman in Texas ordered one a week or two after me.

I love my diesel JL and JT. Can't imagine owning a gasser after having these with diesels. But I can understand the apprehension since Jeep has decided to abandon the project.
Agreed, we have diesel JL and JT, love them... Only gassers I would take is the HEMI and MAYBE the Hurricane... The anemic 3.6 isn't an option

I love my diesel but the release info for MY24 will be this Wednesday the 13th.

I’d wait, they’ll still be offering the deals so seems like a no brainer.

Without seeing the build sheets and specs of what the 24 will bring…. I’m torn on getting that diesel engine or just get whatever the 24 has to offer
Have you driven a diesel? Just asking because if you haven't you wouldn't understand? I'm a Jeep guy I have 7 at the moment 4 are eco diesels. 0 problems for me and my family my son has 2 also. I do have 2 3.6 Jk and Jl but hands down will drive my diesels first. For me theres really no comparison better power, better fuel mileage, longer drive time only down side for us was towing up long hills they will heat up but will still get there before my gasser. My advice go drive one but drive a new gasser before the diesel and you'll know which one is right for you. Good luck

I would not have bought the JT if the EcoDiesel was not available and was limited to the 3.6L or a smaller turbo 4 cylinder.

Averaging 22 mpg with 442#' of low end grunt on 35s and room for 4 and all of our gear.

Not so smart marketing for Jeep because I'm 60+ & this may be the last Jeep that I ever purchase.

To answer the question yes I have driven diesel and I know what you mean lol. Part of the reason I’ve wanted Jeep to have a diesel since I was a kid. Then I’d also say I’m just a Jeep dude myself have had 5 Jeeps so far from TJ to JK to JL and have been debating on this due to the infamous issues the platform has had since it came out. And now that I’m finally in a position I can just go pay upfront for one instead of financing the last few years of research and talking are finally about to come to fruition and pull the trigger. The big hope was to get the 24 in diesel but that looks like it won’t be an option, but granted I should be able to make use of markdowns to get a good deal and take that extra cash to do what I want (within warranty)

but then it comes down to is it worth the potential headache that I’ve seen.
In most cases where people say they’ve dealt with the platforms issues it’s always do I regret getting the diesel? No. Which then I’m cool with but it’s more convincing the wife it’ll be fine ??

Yeah that’s my thoughts exactly which has me torn on it all hahahahaha. It’s rough and will just have to wait to see the build sheet and the specs, it’s like in my head the full float could increase tow capabilities but that 3.6 still might not support that capacity

it’s like my heart wants a diesel Jeep like that was my dream as a kid ya know? But nowadays it’s like ugh is that worth it now??
Will just have to wait and see what that build sheet offers in all reality. Plus regardless it’d be an upgrade from my little orange 12
Only live once! If you're willing to wait to see what the options will be in the 2024 model, great. Wait and then make the decision. Plus the older models will drop in price once new model year is out.

Remember, a lot of the diesel issues are very pronounced because people usually only post if there's an issue. Plenty out there with no issues!

I bought my 22 diesel used from a member here and no issues. I live by Denver and often haul a trailer up to the Rockies to about 9k feet, and have never had a heat soak or derating issue like you read about on here. On the contrary it pulls great and never runs out of power.

Love love love my diesel so far. Running on 37s and get 25mpg+ on the highway, about 20mpg with A lot of city driving.

Hopefully I won't run into any major issues. I have the 3.6 in our Pacifica and I hate that engine. Can't imagine having that in a jeep it must be a slug.

Next week we all will know what mid cycle refresh has in store. As far as ordering a diesel even if the website shows it I would expect factory to be wrapping up the production of this power plant with the FarOut edition. Also on the stop sale post. keep in mind a dealer can put in an order for the truck, but till factory sends a confirmation with a vin number it does not mean anything.

First of all, I need to chime in that there is no “ novelty” in driving the diesel. The torque is what it is. I want a gladiator. My wife needs to pull a horse trailer. The diesel is the only option. It will be heartbreaking to see some puny electric hybrid thing out there that can’t pull anything. Before anyone chimes in and says the Pentastar has greater towing capacity, I have a Pentastar as well. It is completely inadequate for towing any kind of trailer over 4000 pounds up Utah passes.
Also, I get a consistent 22 miles per gallon. If they put the 392 in the Gladiator I’m sure it would tow, but I can’t imagine how Thursday it would be.

you can't get a diesel right now-- you can order, but on extended wait, and stop sale on dealer lot if you find one

Not sure about that. Ordered mine Aug 14th and was just notified today by the dealer that the expected ship date is the 25th of this month. Much sooner than I was expecting so will see. May end up getting delayed but doesn’t matter to me.

I thought I saw stop sale was lifted ?
There’s a black JTRD in the showroom at Jeep Only in Las Vegas. I talked to the sales staff. They aren’t authorized to sell it. Apparently it’s just for show? Lol. I asked them this week about the HPFP recall. Still no solution. I assume that’s why they aren’t aloud to sell it. I questioned if the HPFP recall and potential liability was the reason. The employee’s ambiguous response confirmed it.
On another note, I did 80 MPH up over the Rockies through Colorado a couple weeks ago and hit 253 degrees on the oil temp. Not towing but it was summer heat and had about 1k in bodies, dogs, gear and RTT. Power for days. No derate but, yes, I was worried and watching the oil temp gauge like a parent watching their kid at a park full of pedophiles. I still love my JTRD. 36k miles. I did just buy an extended warranty today. I’ve been gettin a low oil pressure warning although the numbers seemed ok (17 idle and 30ish at 19k rpm’s). Took it in to Jeep last week and they said it was a software update problem. Said they fixed it. Later that day the light/warning came back on. We’ll see what they say Monday when I take it back in….
