Tried searching but didn't see anything pertaining.

Someone tell me I'm wrong in my theory.

This morning I was bored and found a used Mojave I'm tacitly interested in (have several vehicles to sell before I can justify getting one... yet but I'm inching closer.). I pulled up the Monroney on it to confirm the options. That got me looking at the Jeep site daydreaming about building a Mojave and noticed something I'd never noticed on the Monroney before- Conventional differential front axles w/disconnect on the optional equipment side.

This is the full sticker of the above 2023 Mojave.

And-- Every once of the 5-6 2023 Mojave VINs I clicked in the inventory search had the same axle mentioned under options but only on the Autos.

I know the Rubicon has the front sway bar disconnects, but Mojave doesn't... so what this mean?

FWIW, this is what a current website inventory Rubicon I randomly picked says. It says specifically "stabilizer bar."

When I compared the new 2023 Mojave to the used 2021 Mojave there's no mention on the 21.

And just to be safe I did a search for another 2021 Mojave with an auto just to see if this was a Selec-Trac anomaly back then.

Nope.

Nothing similar on manuals either from 2021 or 2023.

Aside from the massive increase in base pricing from 2021-2023, this line stuck out like a sore thumb to me. The very first off-road mod I'd do on a new to me Mojave is a sway disconnect but the way I read this is its stock with an auto??

Anyone have an idea what this really is?

Thanks for humoring my ignorance and Merry Christmas!

FAD; seems like they listed that just to make their list longer. I’m not sure if that’s their way of foreshadowing some new feature that’s not been released yet.

any mention of full float axles, or is that usually not on the build sheets?

behind rear seat storage? There’s a small lockable place there already, and not mentioned on the build sheets for the 21s. Seems like someone is adding some fluff/pork to that build sheet for the 23.

mud terrains shouldn’t be an upcharge; at least I don’t think that it used to be.

black 3 piece freedom top shouldn’t be an upcharge, unless that’s a paint match ( and it’s not ).

There should not be mention of a full float axle, it is not and has not been an option on the JT.

Yes, there is a cubby behind the rear seat. Not lockable on my 2021 but it's there.

Standard top is the vinyl soft top. The 3 piece hard top is an upcharge and always has been. It's more of an upcharge for a color matched top.

In 2021, the M/T's were an upcharge on some models.

Wow. I did not realize the price for a Mojave increased by 14% for a 2023.

As you stated, only the Rubicons get the sway bar disconnect feature. So I’m guessing that “front axle w/disconnect” just means the standard 2wd/4wd transfer case that all Gladiators get

@cranbiz thank you for the info/corrections. You don’t have a place to put your flip-out key into the top of each back seat?

the wife and I can both lock : glovebox, center console, both back seats.

No, what I have is the loop to pull that releases the seat to fold down. Yes, the back of the seat locks into place, it's not a secure lock with a key. Do you have the locking under seat compartment? That might be the difference if you do.

There is a lock next to the strap.

Now I have to look again. I'm pretty sure I don't have locks but if I do, I'll come back and say so.

It locks the rear seat up right so that you can't fold it down. You have to use the key on the fob to lock it.

2 different things. The FAD is in the axle between the differential and Right tire. When you select 4wd, a ring or collar is slit over joining the midshaft and right axle shaft making it turn as one.

The Rubicon model received a 4.1:1 transfer case as all of the others use a 2.72:1. The exception to this rule is the full time unit where there's a full time 4 wheel high offered in both Rubicon's and all others. There's been issues with this from what I've read.

Doug--

Are there issues with Selec-Trac? Seem to have missed those threads.

It Is on my short list of must haves because although I've had plenty of low range transfer case equipped trucks, AWD is a much safer option for our bipolar to schizophrenic weather. Especially in the winter.

Should I reconsider?

I tried to find the post, video or article and couldn’t. I do know that Brad with trail recon had an issue with the unit in his 392 JL, but that’s 4wd only. It was something regarding the clutch pack in the unit malfunctioning.

I think the select trac models in non 392 units has a 2nd, 4wd full time, 4wd part time, neutral and 4wd low…so I’m not sure of the similarities. There’s a select trac option for both the 2.72:1 and 4.1:1 models…or have been in the past. I haven’t looked lately as to what’s available now.

Mud terrains have been an upcharge since mid MY2021. They weren't when the Mojave came out, but by mid-way through the 21MY they were.

hardtop is always an upcharge. The only time it's not independantly listed is when it's included in an equipment group such as the overland's popular equipment package or the dual top group, in which case it's not free, just already accounted for in pricing elsewhere.
