Yep, my experience as well that your vehicle sits for most of that time at the dealership, only getting attention in the periods when the techs aren't busy working on more profitable jobs. They let it sit there until they’re done with the other work that makes them more money.
Glad I'm not the only 1. 35 days and countingDealer did the inspection on my gladiator 2 months ago, still waiting on parts.....
It is hit and miss it appears by region. My dealer told me 6 months for availability, not because it takes 6 months but because admittedly if they get one in 3 weeks they are heroes and if does take 6 months they are doing what they are able.I made an appointment several weeks ago with my local dealership to investigate an intermittent issue I was having (only when towing) and was planning to get fuel pump replaced at the same time to limit service trips. The appointment was set for tomorrow and I called today to verify they had the fuel pump on hand, as the person setting up the service wasn't sure if they would have one or not.
So, I explained tomorrow's planned service with a different service manager and after contacting parts, she said parts weren't available. I understood that to mean they didn't have one in stock and asked if they had a list to get on for when they receive them, as I've seen others here do. She said, "No, we can't even order them, the parts aren't available." I looked just a few minutes ago on the Jeep app and for the recall, I see "Parts Available".
Has anyone else had this problem with their dealership stating they can't even order the fuel pump? Any recommendations on how to get the dealership to do something (is this something @JeepCares may be able to help with)? Anyone else hear, "parts aren't available"?
Thanks
This is the reason I try my hardest to never take my vehicles in. Had a 21 F150 I took in for a rattle in the drivers door. It had more rattles after I got it back!! Took the thing apart myself and found they left the crash sensor screws loose.Got mine done the other day. My gladiator was only the second one they've done. They had it for just over 4 hours. I wish I could say it was a positive experience but they made a huge mess with fuel all over the differential, track bar, tie rod, etc. They could have, at the very least, wiped it all down. The thing I'm most ticked off about is that they broke a chunk off of my radiator fan shroud... ?
I'm still deciding whether I should tell them and have them replace the shroud or if I should just find some kind of epoxy to put it back on with and call it a day. It looks like it would be a huge process to replace the shroud, I'm afraid they'd break more crap and not tell me.
