I think it is stunning! Would I buy one? I already have three two door Jeep pickups.
Full disclosure, this one is not mine, but you get the picture.

Jeep Gladiator The 392 Single Cab Gladiator sells for $65,000 at Barrett-Jackson m715 usmc

If possible, I would have kept the bed at five feet
and moved the wheel openings in it back to match the JL wheelbase
thereby greatly improving the departure angle.

Roger that. Looking at the side view of that 2 door, with the bed extending further rearward from the rear axle, made me think how poor a crawler it might be with that lousy departure angle. Still, it looks cool and I respect the execution on the build.

I believe the young man from CAI said they added one foot to the front of a Gladiator bed making the bed six feet long. I didn't see anything on the video suggesting that they extended the gladiator bed further rearward so I assume the bed length behind the axle is the same as a standard four door Gladiator.

The result of the auction kind of indicate it's not a wanted platform. But alas, people that show up to the BJ auctions aren't the masses, which is what makes money.

If companies weren't run by bean counters, there might be room for a special edition. Remember, Jeep is part of the family that made the Viper and Prowler. But it looks like current leadership at Stellantis is about bowing to the ESG score.

Yeah, this was exactly my thought as well. This was a project that caters to an extremely tiny minority of the market. That inherently devalues it.

I thought about bidding on it but did not want the V8 and assumed it would go for much more than it did. I watched the auction curiously to see how it would be presented by the commentators but it was skipped over for a commercial break where I live so from my perspective it was as if it didn't even exist during the auction. I assume CAI put it up for bid on B-J partly for the exposure being aired nation wide. I believe they are converting more but they don't have much of a marketing presence from what I can find. I first learned of CAI on you tube when their first video showed up in my feed. I am in contact with them and hope to have one of their 2 door Wrangler pickup conversions soon.

Wonder what it would cost for a non 392 2 door?

I hope whoever bought this one gets on this forum to show us what that thing can do. The 392 is badass, and the truck bed instead of a passenger cab sheds a bunch of weight no doubt.

Although…it’s technically a JL. Which forum do they subscribe to!? Identity crisis! Ahhhh!

I'm one of the oddball's on this, I like it and think it looks good. If that would have been what Jeep made, I'd had it instead of my 4 doors JT I've got. I'd would have been looking at the JLU too it might have been what would be in my driveway. The downside would be the same as my MJ lack of leg room and security of my stuff. I has the classic pickup truck look to me. I do like the 4 doors, more covered storage.
