Big Lifts : Axle Wire Extension Advice........... Thanks.

2023 Gladiator, Rebel Recon 6" coilover setup...... I feel getting all the slack out of the wires is pushing it and not a wise choice. Has anybody ever cut the wires and added 6 to 10 inches of new wire and of course did a good job of protecting the wire from the elements?....... Is it regular wire or some fiber special wire? Thanks.

Has anybody cut those wires and made them longer? I’m talking about the ABS wires and all the wires to the pumpkins. The wires look normal at where they connect on the plugs closer to the frame but I want to make sure it’s nothing weird like fiber optic type of wire something like that…… Thanks.

If we’re talking rear, yes, I just finished this. I didn’t see a need to touch the locker wiring, as it’s plenty long. But the abs speed sensor wire would have likely broken after the longer brake line wasn’t protecting it anymore.

If we’re talking rear, yes, I just finished this. I didn’t see a need to touch the locker wiring, as it’s plenty long. But the abs speed sensor wire would have likely broken after the longer brake line wasn’t protecting it anymore.

And you're probably going to want to relocate the parking brake cables from above the cross rails to under them.

Thank you for the link and info. I believe that’s just for a JKU. The gladiator set up is different. I will go to their website and see if they make something for the gladiator. If not, I’ll have to make something.

I made approximately a 3 inch lift kit for the cable bracket, and that gave me a few more inches of length for my application. These extensions definitely helped. But as that video you posted, I do need to make some kind of a bracket but first I’ll see if it’s available for the gladiator.

Before you start splicing, you might checkout the teraflex extended travel kit. If you haven’t done brake lines yet, which I already had when I heard about it. I think it includes something for the parking brake. I still like my splice for the abs, since it’s extended in the middle, and I retained the top and bottom rubber attachments for the anti pull service loops.

I like that idea a lot. My rear is around a 5” lift, so maybe just doing that would take care of my parking brake cables.

Did you just use steel sleeve and longer bolts?

Terra flex 33” rear cable. The lift is somewhere in the 5 1/2 inch area. Definitely going to splice the wire in the middle and make them longer. The rear ABS lines are definitely way too short as you could tell in the picture the front ones not so much but I’m still gonna make them longer so I could put the connector in the frame area back into its original spot.

Those coil overs are insane. I see you’re running the alpine IR control arms. They’re amazing. You’ll love them.
