Did you just use steel sleeve and longer bolts?
It was 1 inch aluminum solid rod that I turned down on a lathe to match the diameter of what’s on the axle housing so it kind of blends a little bit and then I simply drilled a hole in there and purchased longer bolts. It was definitely a wise move for my application.

I really like that. I don’t have a lathe however. I bet I could use a setup similar to a driveshaft carrier bearing spacer though. Drill two holes in rectangular aluminum and bridge the two holes.

I just looked at your picture again and think that would work great. I like not adjusting the parking brake so it still works correctly.
