To boot, if you don’t spend the extra $2k to get a proper charger, it takes 15hours to charge the vehicle ...
I happened to have a subpanel nearby, but it was ~$20 in parts for a new circuit breaker and single-gang box/faceplate to accomodate Level 2 (220V 16A) charging.

On the X package comparisons: I negotiated a '23 JTM 6MT down to 26% off MSRP in Houston, $52K before 6.25% tax. A '24 JTM 6MT with the X package is $58K before tax through a below-invoice forum dealer.

The '23, with the higher MSRP, was missing the bedliner, side-curtain airbags, sound dampening and acoustic glass from the diesel, steel bumpers, painted fenders, UConnect 5.

From the looks of these comments, there seems to be a lot of us that will be moving to the "O" thread, myself included.

Honestly, if I am serious about another 2024+ Gladiator, it is probably going to be a low mileage used one I get and let the first buyer take that depreciation hit.

Short of maybe some deep discounts like they have done with the 2023 left overs, I do not see buying a new off the lot 2024+ model in my future.

Looking like I'm in the same boat as you. Even with below invoice options out there, my ideal build isn't even financially possible for me this year- I'm at $70K MSRP. Figure a below invoice deal may get that down closer to $63-64K but that's still putting me out of a new JT and back into taking my risks with the used market and someone else's problem.

Jeeps have always been able to be custom ordered within reason. With that in mind I resent the way they've packaged the X. They could have been smart and set it up as the X being the only way to get leather, power seats and a steel bumper... and everything else remain available on the base Mojave.

wow $74000.00 for a rubicon
Where are you getting 74K?? I just built a duplicate from my 2022 model and it's only $1,015 more, for the exact same options - well except for the upgraded radio which I have zero interest in.

To match what I have now, I have to go with the higher end stuff- with the same packages I have, I'm looking at 70K vs. the 62K MSRP my 2022 had and the 56K my 2020 had.
I have a 2020 Overland and I'm sad to see it's no longer an option. However, I'm not quite understanding why folks are saying you have to move up to a Rubicon X now to get equivalent features. I can build a Sport S and check a lot of options to get almost all the same features (including body-color fenders) as my current Overland except 18-inch wheels, leather (a $1,795 option now) and a roll-up tonneau (which you can buy aftermarket) for $54,985. Still a lot of money but not 70k.

I just built a JTR as close as possible to my 2023. Came in +17k over what I paid in December.
To be clear, I’m not comparing 23 MSRP to 24 MSRP. Those prices are much closer.

You can't get body color roof and fender flares on a 2024 Sport S according to the build and price web site.
Only roof options are soft top and black hard top.

They moved the leather seats away from seat options (where they ONLY show black cloth and in with the sill guards - stupid layout. Seat options should be up with the seat options, not in a list with sill guards. So someone moved the seats down into "other".

Here's the Sport S roof options - It would cost about a grand to have a roof painted and then it won't be the same as the factory finish. Some colors, especially metallics, when sprayed at different times by different methods, never quite match.

When you add the automatic, be careful as it REMOVES several other packages and you have to go put them back in again (even though I never even selected the cargo group!)

To match my Overland - which can't be done, you don't get the same interior (leather everywhere, including DASH and more) and nice ride, I'm at 61K plus have to add 1 to get a roof painted, so am at 62K MSRP and still not up to the level of the Overland.
My Overland has the 400 watt inverter, SelecTrac transfer case, Jeep tonneau cover (not interested in after-market so would likely buy a take-off)

Wait until November / December '24; the 26%-30% off MSRP is bound to replay again in the future.

Biggest discount, if you're already driving a great '22 JTR, is to keep whatcha got, though?

The seats down by the sill guards are the Katskinz leather option. You could switch tops with the new black one when it comes in if you order the same color. lol

Why are the Doors of Mirror Kit $765? Besides thinking they added some electrical components like blind spot indicators, I can’t even begin to understand that much of a price increase. who has blind spots with doors off anyways? LOL. I can order them on Mopar website for about $299. Anyone have any insight besides Jeep is sticking it to you?

The problem is that to get the superior transfer cases- RockTrac and SelecTrac respectively, the only option is to get the X packages on the Rubicon and Mojave along with a pile of other things. IE: What was a sub-$1000 upgrade is now only available as part of a $10K option package. Just about anything else that is offered on the X packages could be relatively easily added to a JTM or JTR in the aftermarket with OEM parts, even the trail cams (theoretically) but the SelecTrac and RockTrac cannot be.

I'd sooner replace the driver's seat with a Recaro bucket for $2500 than spend the same money on leather that my dog is going to ruin before I remove the rear seat and turn it into a platform.

In more simple terms: I want a relatively basic Mojave with SelecTrac, trail cam and cloth seats. That would be about $62-63K MSRP on the 2023. To get those two options, I have to spend close to $70K now and get a bunch of other stuff I don't want/care about.

Only time will tell how this ages but I don’t think you’ll see quite the same discounts. I think the reason for the bigger discounts are that there is a difference in feature sets.
Next year there will not be a noticeable difference between 24’s and 25’s.

oh unless they cancel the gladiator ?

but next year I dont think dealers will be sweating getting the 24’s off their lots as much as they are getting the 23’s off the lots.

Ah, makes sense. I have a black hard top and no SelecTrac (wasn't an option in '20). My Mopar roll-up tonneau I bought through the dealer; not sure if you can still do that. It does suck that you have to go upmarket to get leather seats and the nice leather dash/stitching that was on the Overland. It wouldn't surprise me to see the Overland trim come back at some point though. Without it, there's really no equivalent to the Sahara trim in the Wrangler which seems like a glaring omission.
