It doesn't have to be "life story" stuff. I don't think it is any of their business to track my oil life or tire pressures either.

The problem is you are comparing your 'spy central data collector' phone, that you pay the data transfer cost for, to the Telematics data that Jeep collects and pays for. Yes, they have the ability to collect more in the future, but they aren't now. They pay AT&T for that monthly connection, and keep the data transfer small and simple. When they start adding body sensors and cameras, then you should be worried.
Well you brought up having a phone and that is the reason I should be ok with having uconnect. I was just expanding on it. This could be anything that is collecting data from me.

Good god. Just trade someone for their 7” head unit. Done.

Edit: I have the 7”. I’ll trade someone straight up for the 8.4” if they want.

The Jeep app is just one of the windows into your Jeep account, which was created when you purchased a truck with a cellular equipped head unit.
Jeep app will no longer allow me to access or even add my Jeep to the app - because something happened and my guardian expired or quit for some reason.
I contacted Jeep support - why isn't my Jeep in there, why can't I add it - they said "no guardian, no app".
Didn't realize you can't do anything at all - like anything on the phone all, but on the web site, logged in as me, I can add my truck, see the service history and so on - (not remote start it, though unless I re-up the guardian) - but the Jeep phone app? It's dead.

Then drop the guardian service.
On the other hand - the tire pressure stuff could be handy if you have a blowout, there's an accident, and you can prove your tires were indeed properly inflated.

You're not going to get mine that easily. Good try. :)
But you hate it. It’s watching your every move. I’m offering to help remove the magnifying glass. :)

You can probably prove the tire pressure was ok before the blowout by plugging into the Jeep and pulling history manually. I would think anyway.

I'll trade you that 8" U-Connect for my measly 7". I'll let Jeep follow me around, Google already does that. Scratch that, Jeep would know where I hide the bodies and tell Google. Gotta keep the bodies hidden.

they can track you but yet if your Jeep is stolen they can't track it and tell you where it is but they can let you know the thiefs havent done an oil change and have a low tire pressure ....

As if the microchips implanted during COVID weren't tracking us already. Just kidding. Really just kidding.

They aren't tracking every move you make in detail. Mileage is part of the reports you get if you have the Sirius Guardian - and they come with a trial, otherwise, you don't get those reports.
I get stuff that has an estimate of my mileage and it's always wrong because I don't drive the miles in a year the average owner does.

If you want to skip all of that stuff, yeah, a CJ5 would do nicely.

On the other hand, I know a real person who was in an accident where there were no witnesses - just himself and the other party who accused him of not stopping, and making an improper left turn. He was sued, ended up in court as the other party and his insurance were fighting for everything the guy had and owned.
GM came forward with information showing that he had stopped, his speed at the time, etc.
It only recorded the last xx seconds - so there was no trip history, but it was enough info to blow the other party away in court.

So I suggest that you tell your mules you have to meet in different locations to receive product and don't use the Jeep.
I always use my older cars to meet with my supplier and 'customers' and don't take a cell phone with me, cash only, meet in areas with no cameras.
No worries.
Fing IT guys, we be paranoid, not stupid LMAO

I'm guessing you haven't yet located the GPS Tracker your dealer installed under the dash.
funny note on tracking, I traded in my 22 for a 23 with all those discounts at the time. The dealer had a Rubicon that was having issues & the owner demanded a Gladiator ( this was after waiting on his to be fixed for 3 months. long story short they loaned him my old Glad. I kept getting low fuel indications from the jeep app & the person put 8K miles on it B 4 they could get it back, they even used my jeep app to locate it. evidently it stays in your name on the app until its sold. we tried to delete it multiple times.
