This was posted not too long ago and some of the comments were about the heat from it. I watched the video and apparently there is little to no heat due to the heat dispenser that surrounds it. Another critique was it'll get ripped off in a second. The video shows that the fenders stick out way farther then the exhaust. The creator is ex USMC medic so is building a 'trail aid station' to teach/encourage first aid knowledge and is adding some little touches from his humvee days. Not my cup of tea but at least it was well thought out and with purpose.

This. Not anything I'd ever consider doing but it's unique and well done.

He really takes a lot of time to explain the logic behind the mod, and the steps his guy at Magnaflow took to painstakingly fit everything together. The fact that the vinyl wrap behind it isn't distorted from heat shows proof of concept and ought to shut down the naysayers.

More importantly, and I think the neatest feature of it: In the event it does break on a trail, the entire exterior assembly can be removed with two bolts and thrown in the bed. It just exits right after the muffler and under the truck until a proper shop repair can be made. Having something one-off like this and thinking that through is smarter than hell.

He does mention that there is more R&D going on behind the scenes and they'll be updating.

Now, giving him grief about the white box Chinesium canopy he has... that's fair game. ;)

Maybe on a clapped out 12 valve 1st gen Cummins but not my brand new JT. I wish I had their tools and resources though!

pretty cool. I am sure they have their reasons for it being there. Perhaps they are using the freed up space between the frame rails for alternate liquid storage space. It would be cool to see the complete jeep when their concept is finished.

I was with him till he turned the pipe upwards... Love the body exit. The marines always had the raised snorkels and tailpipes on their HMMWVs. Always knew who was coming down the road when you saw the extensions.

I've never seen a person driving a (non-18 wheeler) truck with stacks who didn't drive like they thought they owned the road.

So. . .bolt it to the roof rack, which is bolted to the roof, which is supposed to come off but now can't. Or, if you managed to take it off, your passenger is sitting next to a hot pipe.

They clearly are good at what they do, but I don't see the benefit from this.

This is an answer to a problem that didn't exist.

"My exhaust got ripped off when it snagged on a tree branch on the trail"

Anyway - what about the flexing of the body mount to frame?
The exhaust itself must flex some, and the body does this independently. So you have two things that need to flex and move with rough terrain. Would be interesting to see how that holds up.

But for me, it's a definite 'why"............

Brad is a retired Navy Corpsman and this build (according to him) is inspired by the ambulances he often drove so that tracks. He also is big into off-road first aid training and awareness and mentions that frequently in his videos.

He has also gone into detail that he is not a currently-licensed medical professional. Actually using that equipment could get him into a world of hairy legal trouble, which I'm certain he understands better than us. Good Samaritan laws only go so far. Even he says "a practical expedition vehicle with a focus of bringing awareness to the importance of first aid off the grid." Not DOING first aid off the grid

Personally I hope his videos aren't going to become filled with the fake simulated injuries with rubber snakes he's done so far, totally cringey. I know it's hard to make a living doing these videos, and I hope he's able to continue. But so far this series is kinda šŸ™„

I’ve always liked his videos and used them to research trips but I’m not really into this particular build. But, his job is YT and content creation so as long as he’s getting clicks he gets paid. This build will get clicks even if it’s just morbid curiosity.
