I ordered these wheels and tires for my wife's gladiator rubicon I'm helping her mod out.

On the readylift tire sizing guide I read that is can only handle 37" and 10" wide rims @ 0 offset with stock bumper. I'm going 12" at -44/4.77 backspacing. Do I need to get a stubby bumper for it to work

I wanted some input from others that have tried it. It's just for on road use.

You’ll hit the bumper. I’d be willing to bet on that. I’m on 37s on 8.5” wide -6 offset and I just can’t see another what, 4.2” further out? There’s no way that won’t hit the bumper.

I ran 20's on my 16 JKU (prior owner had the jeep modified). The ride was rougher, to try it out I removed the 18's from my wife's JKU and installed them on mine and drove it around for a few days and the rider was smoother (same tires Nitto Ridge Grapplers). The 20's looked great, but wasn't an option I would have done if it I was doing the mods. My current JTR has 17's and running 37's, the ride is a lot better and I don't mind driving 3 1/2 hours to my daughters college and the ride around town is a little smoother.

I sincerely doubt you will get those tires installed on those rims. Most decent shops won't install tires on rims that are not within the tire specs, and those won't be. Those wheels just won't work. WAY too wide.

Are you saying 12.5 tires are not in spec or that specific tire?

I did not look at that specific tire, but most 12.50 tires do not show 12" rims in spec. I would expect that you won't hold a bead very well.

That specific tire and size says will fit on rims 8.5"-12".

With that said, OP, a 37" tire works in the wheel well with no issues. NOW, your width IS probably going to be an issue and you might have to trim, switch out parts to accommodate it.

The ride is going to be rougher due to the smaller side walls. The scrub radius is going to be decreased, so turning in tight spots becomes a multiple point turn.

So swapping to a 10" wide rim fixes all that?

No, you have to go back to your wheels and their backspacing/offset.

You opted to go with a -44, which is the same as the OEM wheels. Now you're adding a wheel and tire that are wider than OEM. So the inside of your wheel and tire are actually getting closer to the hard parts up front. Fine when going straight, going to rub hard parts when turning.

You want to go with a -12 to 0 on the wheel.

You/your wife may want the aesthetics of the 20" wheel, but truth be told she'll be much happier in the JT with a 17" wheel & tire combo. Your tire is your first shock absorber, the taller the sidewall the more capability it has to absorb road shock.

You'll be totally fine with 20" wheels and 37" tires. That's 17" total sidewall

A stock Gladiator with 17" wheels and 33" tires only has 16" of sidewall.
