Just saying. I haul firewood in my bed from time to time, and just dropping a small round onto wheel wells dents the crap out of it. Very dissatisfied with the beds durability.
I don’t really care because it’s a truck but still it would be nice if they could have made it just a little heavier duty
That’s all I have to say.

Ya no issues here either. I‘m gona gather your definition of drop is throw.

My grandp’s old truck was dented all to hell from fire, 80’s gmc. So was my 2000 Silverado but I’ve since started to care a bit more and stopped throwing wood in the back… no more dents

If you want a pretty bed, you got to treat your bed like it's pretty. You can't abuse it then blame it for being beat up.

If you want to treat your bed like you don't care about it, then you have to actually not care.

not throw, drop. Obviously throwing would dent any bed.

all I was saying is it’s a super thin bed. I don’t care I’m just disappointed in the quality. You can literally use your fist to dent the wheel wells. That’s sad.

Man, I drop/toss an 80 pound wdh in mine routinely and yet to dent it, I was actually very impressed. I do have linex and a thin rubber mat though

Portions of the bed are made of aluminum, and with CAFE standards everything has to be made lighter.

I haul a lot of firewood, and I toss it in, I don't have the time to put it in gently.

What's the saying about how much wood would a woo chuck chuck?

I chuck the wood!

I've had spray in liners, they are purty, but don't last if you use your truck like a truck.

Too the constant returns for touch ups get old.

I put a drop in liner shortly after buying it.

It's been in close to four years.

There's a wive's tale about them causing wear to the bed and causing corrosion.

A falsehood, I've been using drop ins for years.

Pulled it out at the beginning of this season, clean as new.

Prior to reinstall just like prior to first installation I put a heavy coat of unbuffed past wax on the bed.

Rugged Liner, at the time $199.00 installed.

In todays' economy I'm sure it has gone up.

If you're going to abuse your truck like that, something like this will help... a lot. You REALLY have to abuse it hard to dent it through a drop-in bedliner. I carried a cord at a time for three years in my '77 F250 SuperCab. It had a plastic bedliner and the bed never did dent.

The strength of the bed is directly proportional to the size of the tires and lift under it. If you run 42s, you can literally drop another Gladiator into your Gladiator’s bed and haul it vertically up a tree. This has been proven many times on YouTube.
