Not being able to receive RCS encrypted text on the broncos sport is unfortunately something that could tarnish are time with the Bronco Sport. I can receive the same RCS text messages when connected, via Bluetooth, to Uconnect.
Im almost too embarrassed to ask what RCS encrypted text is....

Body rot issues? Never heard of this. Can you elaborate?
I owned three old style broncos ,an 81, an 84 and a 95, all rotted away from under me. The way Ford crimped the bottom edge of the tailgates (no drain holes) and the crappy steel they used caused the rot to start there, then the rear wheel wells bubbled and rotted thru next(seemed like the paint had too much Hardner in it and allowed water to penetrate thru to the steel). The 95 had dual front shocks and the right shock tower came off due to the rivets rotting out( a wood block got me thru the week until I torched the stubs out and used grade 8 bolts and hardware to reattach it.) Also while driving down the road I started hearing a kind of clunky jangling noise on the passenger side, turned out the seat belt winding mechanism that bolted to the floor fell thru the rotted floor and was hanging by the belt banging on the floor and frame. that was my last bronco. EVER. They're too new in production to tell if they improved the engineering, the paint process and the steel used with this model, but I'd beware until maybe five years go by to see. one other thing, I'm seeing them(the new models) in the one old color I had, sort of a powder blue, that color seemed to rot earlier, and they had a green and a maroon which for some reason did not rot out as fast. Just be aware of the issue and hope Ford doesn't have the same issues with the "revived" Bronco. Wish you luck whatever you choose to do.

LOL you’re comparing bronco build quality from 30 to 40 years ago to a modern one? There have been large advances in the automotive industry when it comes to chemical protection of the frame.

Everything that is steel rusts if you’re in an area where stuff rusts. The steel Ford uses is no more crappy than anyone else.

The 95 you mentioned with dual front shocks, that’s not stock. The tower coming off due to rivets is an install problem. Aftermarket shock hoops should be welded.

I wonder where they got the Dana 44 from? Do you know? It was never an option for the YJ and it wasn’t in any other Jeep at that time either.
Actually it was an option for overseas YJs... so the local axle shop was able to order me one as a stock Dana part number. The only thing non stock for it was it has custom ground ABS rings as overseas YJ back then did not have ABS and mine had that option.

What Jeep did was cut me a check that covered the costs of the axle.

Ahh, of course, an export part. That's pretty cool!

I'm guessing you haven't had the Jeep bubbling paint issues yet.

Why don’t you rent a bronco and determine what’s better … I randomly got a bronco as a rental is it’s worse at everything versus a jeep JL/JT. There is nothing it does better. Don’t be fooled by IFS handles the road better. The bronco was rattle city. The only rattle in my gladiator was the sunvisor rubbing on the rubber bumper, first time cleaned with interior dressing and it hasn’t made a peep since.

now, my rental ford expedition limited that was loaded with everything was very very nice.
You must have gotten a faulty Bronco or something because I am a Die Hard Jeep fan and I've owned 3 wranglers, 2 XJs and the JT and the new broncos definitely is a better ride on the road than anything in a wrangler or Gladiator plus more pep in The pedal as well. I'll always have a jeep in The driveway but there will be a Bronco in my driveway soon as well.

Sasquatch Package and 35's will take you most places you need to go. Don't pay no mind to the Bronco haters I mean this is a Jeep Forum so your gonna get that. Most of us understand. If you want a solid build RTR Racing knows their crap. I work beside their race shop in Concord NC and they have build some really solid Broncos in that shop. I'll leave this right here. Vaughn loves to talk about anything Bronco, Mustang or even Jeep. He gave me a lot of advice on how to build my jeep for my needs.

Faulty? No, I’m pretty sure it was just awful. It actually rode how I expect a jeep to ride, the JL/JT surprisingly ride very well. I too am a serial jeep owner, 6 TJ/LJ, ZJ 5.9, WK2 Summit, JL 4xe, 3 JTs.

I drove a Base Sasquatch Package on 35's for about 4 days while they worked on our BMW and it was a freaking Cadillac compared to any Jeep I ever drove stock plus it had way more room on the interior. We had one on order but cancelled it because we decided to invest in a few properties instead but I'm thinking first of next year we will end up with one. I wouldn't get rid of my JT for one because I don't think the broncos look as good but it's got nothing to do with how they ride, a Bronco definitely rides smoother.

The rental I had was a badlands. Like I said, rode like crap. Maybe the “Squach” has better suspension tuning. The one I had was bone stock with 25k isn miles. The top flapped, the frameless windows shook, the seats were less comfortable, the miles of plastic somehow looked worse than the miles of plastic on a base sport JL/JT, maybe because it looks like it was made from plastic 2x4’s. The exterior looks great! It is a cool vehicle. And if you compared the bronco to a TJ, I’d be great! But the JK was leaps ahead of the old TJ and our JL/JT is leaps beyond the JK in terms of quality. I forgot to mention, I also bought 2 new JK’s and one used JK.

Again, not saying the bronco is a bad vehicle, it’s just far worse than our generation of Jeeps. But this is fords first try building a Jeep like vehicle in YEARS. Jeeps been nonstop for 75+ years.

Anyways, perhaps I’ll have an opportunity to drive another one someday. I wouldn’t be opposed. And I’m sure the bronco has great potential as a platform.

I would only own a Hard top one and the same in a jeep. Every soft top jeep I ever owned leaked horribly, that's why I bought a hard top JT. It came with a soft top as well but I've never used it because of the poor design and how it sits at the top of the jeep looks horrible IMO. The Bronco we had was a Hard top as well and I felt like it was a quality made vehicle. I wouldn't say the finishes were any better than the JT's and JLs are but I didn't feel like it was less comfortable and I enjoyed the extra power and how much more quiet it was.

I’ve owned nothing but soft tops, or dual top. EXCEPT for the 3 JT, they were all hard tops with the Sun Rider floppy tops … great compromise! My wife had the 4xe with the Sky One Touch top, that was cool.

In all my experience with new tops, used tops, OEM, twill, sail cloth, Aftermarket, blah blah blah… over the span of 20 years and 8 jeeps, I never had one leak, EXCEPT for when a stray thread was dangling in my interior and that thread wicked so much water that it flooded my passenger foot well in a few hours time while parked. Snipped the thread and fixed that issue.
