I had used the REDARC but have since moved to the Jeep controller just to be Jeep part and not aftermarket. Both work basically the same and I'd replace with either again.

I like the in-dash knob on the Jeep controller, but I don't want to lose my 12v plug. So I'll take a look at the REDARC and the Curt Echo BT controller.

We tow a Trailmanor all over Colorado. Use a Curt BT brake controller and have bags in the rear .

I never used my 12V power port so used that location. I did "relocate:" my 12v power port to the passengers side console but its yet to get used in 3 years....

Recently towed my tent trailer from Italy to Switzerland over the Splügen Pass.

That were arround 75 switchbacks, 52 on the Italian and 23 on the Swiss side.
Challenging but also interesting.
And trailers where not permitted.

Very clever to rely completely on googles maps ...

Yes, I’m using the Husky Centerline TS weight distribution anti-sway hitch. I’ve been in some high winds , haven’t experienced any sway with this set up and truck drives nice and level. I’m really happy with it.

I use the Mopar and just kept the outlet behind the dash with my tow camera monitor plugged into it.

When I tow a camper, I will probably rent. What is the best electric brake setup that can be used universally or at least which is the most common, if they are not all made to a standard?

I like and have used the redarc on my last 3 vehicles. I reluctantly used the cigarette lighter on my Gladiator because I did not want to lose my rear-view camera power connection but found this on Amazon and adds a cigarette lighter back. Works Great. Just rented this camper for softball tournament. So, I had to slap in a brake controller to go with it. Blows my mind that you order a truck with the tow package, and they nickel and dime you for a brake controller. Installed the REDARC one and couldn’t have been easier.
Trailer is 4300lbs dry, and probably about 5000lbs how we had it. It says 605lbs tongue weight. Pulled better than my 3400lbs boat. WDH makes a huge difference.
