I’ve only listened to JK guys for years that opined about the 3.8, most who later moved onto the 3.6 like the new engine many much better. Personally I don’t have horse in this race. Got the JT, 4.0, 5.2, and 5.9 all in ZJs. I always think about those JK dude chats though when the better engine topic comes along.I don't understand the "minivan" engine as a dig. As though being in a mommyvan is a bad thing?
It is a corporate motor used in multiple vehicles. Just so happens the majority of what it was used in are now out of production and all that is left are minivans, Jeeps, and a single trim of the Ram 1500.
Guess the people that think that would really hate to know that a variation on the Mitsu motor that was found in the Voyager/T&C/Caravan back in the day was also in the 3000GT, Stealth, and others.
The Hurricane series of 4's and 6's are also a corporate motors. Are they bad now if they made it into a mommy van?
