Yeah I would ride naked if that was my only clothing option. Just wait till they offer Jeep branded lingerie for the gals. 450 a set 😂 .
They already do!!! Not Victoria's Secret type of stuff, but t-shirts. I'll take an oversized tshirt to sleep in over itchy lace any day.

Nah, this more of the overlanding, jeep and offroading tax/extortion. See how much a DMOS shovel and mount (about $450).
To be fair (to be faaaaaaaaaaair) any time you put "overlanding," "off road," or "back country" in the description it adds about 40% more profit.

Harley davidson dose it, wy not jeep🤔
Harley perfected selling you the bike and then soaking your credit card for bolt on chrome doodads, fringey crap that hangs off it, and dubious quality apparel made in a sweat shop in a far east shithole but costs 3x as much because it says Harley on it. It sells the "lifestyle."

All Jeep did was copy the idea.

Its all about removing money from your wallet and into their account !

Look at alcohol advertising, you cant have a good time unless your drinking XXXX brands beer or liquor, the easiest way to remove someone's money is suggestive advertising,

Don't get me wrong we all do it to an extent, I like my Costa hats, well made and last for ever, till you loose it on a boat, but prices are through the roof on things now,

The ratio of people who own a Jeep as a lifestyle choice or "just in case I need 4wd" versus those who own one to do hard core four wheeling is probably extremely biased toward lifestyle. But after the actual four wheelers are pushed out of the picture by Jeep's marketing and design choices geared toward "lifestyle", Jeep will have an image problem. They will lose the hard-core image that attracted the "lifestyle" crowd in the first place and those people will go looking for vehicles that either have a stronger (and non-poser) image or ones that drive better on paved roads. It is a tough row to hoe. I don't know what the best choice is for them but I wish for once a company would stick to its roots and spend their R&D dollars on increasing the reliability, capability, and maintainability of their existing products versus always spending it on adding new features without ever fixing the problems from the prior year model(s). Jeep is not alone in this. Automobile manufacturers are not alone in this. It is pervasive.

Thanks a lot.... this is all I can think of now: a bunch of Zac Efrons from Dirty Grandpa driving Jeeps, and wearing beach sweaters while "cruising the Hamptons".

I would posit that the "probably" you wrote above is more like "is."

We all laugh and point fingers at the mall crawlers, the SoFlo monstrosities, 24" chrome wheels, angry grills and so on but the bread and butter of Jeep sales are the people who want the look/style and never take it further off road than a maintained gravel driveway to their cabin in an HOA resort community.

Fact is, Jeep continues to make hard core off roaders for a very small minority of us. Glad they do. Same goes for Toyota, GM, and Ford.

Far as the rest of your statement, I agree. I'd much rather have a reliable, rock solid vehicle that doesn't need to visit the service bay several times a year for random electrical gremlins. I just haven't found one yet. Even Honda and Toyota are garbage compared to their historic reliability.

Hell, if you look at the overall truck market the biggest selling point seemingly is the massive front grille. shame that everything that comes after it is a steaming pile.
