And I wonder how Jeep brand would rank if only Wrangler / Gladiator / Grand Cherokee results were surveyed. The total basket cases like Compass and Patriot have to drag on the score.

I dunno about you but my JT wasn't without sin. The issues and Jeep's lack of effort in even replicating the issue let alone fix it is why I'm back in a Toyota as my daily.

Oh I'm not claiming any Jeep is without issues... just saying after having been around their entry level front wheel drive offerings (company vehicles, rentals, friend's / family's) that those things are in a class of their own low quality. I once had a company provided Compass where you could barely open the doors on a hot day due the door handles going soft in the heat - to where they wouldn't engage.

And the JT tied for #1 in initial quality last year. But nobody really believes in these JD rankings anymore. Supposedly, its now a marketing expense.

I didn't even look at any marketing survey before I bought my JTR.

I call absolute bullshit on BMW being even in the top 10 unless they're only surveying people before their "free" maintenance and factory warranty run out.

Jeep and Dodge are tied, which is unsurprising… but what happened to Chrysler?

Having owned 36 cars in my life (I think I lost count, I'm only 53 YOA), The brand that has been the most reliable for me is Jeep. Owned several BMWs, some used, some new. All had issues from convertible top actuators, to transmission shifting issues to lifter noise that BMW said it was normal on the N52 engine. Had 2 MBs that were solid, a Jaguar XJR that was a suspension nightmare, another older jaguar that ate transmissions, a Merkur XR4 turbo that blew the engine, a Pontiac Fiero that spent most of its days on jackstands, etc. It helps that Jeep is my favorite brand. I just wish they had used a different gas engine on the JT. It would be nice to have something like the GM 2.7L Turbo with 310HP and 430lbs of torque. That engine should pull like a diesel, although I have never driven one.

First Jeep was an 80's Comanche forgot the year. The rest listed by when I acquired them.

I too have owned many, many vehicles. I have owned Porsches, GM muscle cars, street rods, Audi's, Ford pickups, and Jeeps mostly. The Porsche's were by and far the most dependable if you took care of them. Friends with BMW's didn't fare well though. Lots of issues. These surveys comparing road cars like Porsches to Jeeps are worthless. I had a 2008 Jeep JK that I converted to an LS3 430hp Corvette engine with 6L80 transmission. In terms of all Jeeps I have had and have personal knowledge of, it was extremely dependable. That engine and transmission were made for Jeeps. It got better gas mileage than the stock V-6 and never let me down. When they develop a DIY conversion kit for the JT, I will install another LS engine in mine.
