does this enable emergency braking? my 2021 has adaptive but its not doing anything unless its activated already
This should enable it. I have the option automatic emergency braking under settings, with warning + braking selected. I hope to never find out.

If it came with ACC, it should also have the FCW. There should be some settings in the head unit for it. One of the options is Warning Only, which turns off the emergency braking. The ACC uses the camera and radar, while controlling the throttle and braking, to maintain the set distance between the vehicle and objects in front of it. The emergency braking should activate if someone cuts in front of you.
oh yeah mine will beep if cut off but ive never witnessed braking as a result

I finally finished the software updates to turn on the ACC in my 2023 JT diesel. Works amazingly well, it took me to a full stop. Has anybody tried to toggle it to 'stop and go' and see what happens?

I was going to do a write up, but I ran across a write up by @DailyDrivenTJ and he is so much better at writes up than i could ever be. If he doesn't have time, i'll try my hand at it. I believe he is about to start the process.

In the mean time, if anybody has any questions i'll do my best to answer them.

With a write up to follow, i'll estimate the following:
Approximate time of hardware install, 120 minutes.
Approximate time of software updates, 30-60 minutes (including DASM calibration)

Thank you to @DC3, @Jimmy07, @rhill2901 and the others i'm missing who did the hard leg work on making this possible.
Just came back from a trip and seeing this wonderful news!

Congrats!

Thanks for reaching out @sapientiam. We will do a write up together. Waiting on my ABS module and pump and they should arrive soon.

Also got my Mongoose programmer and need to register with Witech.

Will be taking a lot of photos. Will take any request so do request if any one of you need any photos as things get taken apart.

On a rental Jeep I drove a few weeks back, it stopped when a vehicle stopped in the front and if the vehicle starts moving upon full stop within a few seconds, it started to accelerate with the vehicle in front while maintaining the prescribed distance.

good to know, when I was testing it. Once it came to a stop I hit the brakes.

There is a setting in alfaobd that says “full stop and go”. Does not work on my gladiator, took my system offline and lots of error messages.

I wonder why that is... I wonder if you need different settings to be enabled for the full stop and go.

Are there any options available on the Uconnect head unit vehicle setting?

This is great news. I'm looking at used JT's and most do not have ACC. The fact that you can basically build the system is awesome.

You had me excited for a minute. I was really hoping for a model that would hold the brakes as long as the car in front of me is stopped, then accelerate again up to the set speed.

I have a JTR with factory ACC, and I can confirm that it will beep and release the brakes after sitting stopped for just a few seconds.

I was hoping for the same. I don’t know why there is a time limit at a full stop. To keep people from forgetting that they’re driving and getting out? Much like the stupid 3 honks.

Ok. So in Summary, there are two different versions of ACC. One is with a temporary stop and go. But the other is full stop that will stay stopped indefinitely and go? JL/JT platform is the temporary stop and go?

There’s actually 3 types of ACC, but only two are used on JT’s:
- ACC with Stop= this type will bring the vehicle to a full stop, and can only hold the brakes for about 5 seconds before it cancels and you have to put your foot on the brake (it will start moving again on its own if the lead vehicle starts moving before those 5 seconds are up).
- ACC= this type is for manual transmission JT’s and JL’s, and for obvious reasons will not bring the vehicle to a full stop without driver intervention.
- ACC with Stop and Go= this type will bring the vehicle to a full stop, hold indefinitely, and start going when the lead vehicle starts moving. The reason the JT isn’t capable of this is because it doesn’t have an electronic parking brake. That’s what makes it capable to hold the vehicle indefinitely without having to press the brake pedal, because after the 5 second brake hold is up, the electronic parking brake engages.
That’s why you’ll get errors on a JT if you try to configure for ACC with Stop and Go, because the BCM is expecting and ABS module that has EPB capabilities.

Thank you again @Jimmy07.

Where do you set that? Haven’t seen that option/mode on my 2021 JTRD.
