Big Brother Stellantis is not spying on you. They barely know you exist. If you have a cellular equipped head unit, Telematics data is uploaded for Research and Development purposes. If you pay for the Guardian Service, your location is tracked to aid in Recovery and Emergency Response.

They are investigating ways to monetize the data collected. The data they do share, up to this point, has had the personal identifiers scrubbed out.

As already mentioned, the cellular phone you are carrying around collects and shares more data than the truck ever will, and it is personalized data linked to you.

Well let me enlighten you then…I get an email from something called Jeep Service, it tells me I have a powertrain malfunction light. The email gives me the address and phone number of the nearest dealer to me. Big brother is watching and knows who - what - where.

That's not Big Brother spying on you. That's your truck calling for help. Every new truck that is capable includes one year of the Guardian Service. If you don't like it, don't subscribe at the end of the trial period. Didn't your Dealer explain any of this when you bought the truck? You had to provide an email address so they could create your account, and you had to respond and create your password.

There have been discussions before about this, including links to articles saying which company is the worst about using, harvesting, and selling your data. They did say that auto manufacturers are the worst for privacy. Also, I believe that replacing your Uconnect head unit would take care of most or all of the devices used to send the information to be shared, but that doesn't guarantee that what you replace it with won't do the same.

As a bonus, if you replace the head unit, whatever new one you get might actually save the settings and layout that you want to keep.

When your sirius XM guardian and convience package expires. it'll all go away. They want you to pay to be spied on lol. You can call sirius now if you want and have them turn it all off. However your app will no longer work, and the SOS function will not either. If you wanna take it a step futher you can unplug the sat antenna

I was watching that Yellowstone spin off, 1923 the other day. There’s a scene where they all walk through town and are shown the first washing machines, refrigerators and what not.
