Update in post 10.

I have a deposit on a 2021 diesel gladiator rubicon that I intend to purchase tomorrow so long as its condition and operability checks out. I haven’t seen it in person yet as it’s a bit of a drive away from where we live. But we are hoping to give it a thorough look over tomorrow and hand over the funds.

I am pretty well versed with vehicles but outside of the normal Items to inspect, is there anything specific to gladiators and the diesel that I should be looking for? It does still have 2 years 5 months and 70,000 miles left on the powertrain warranty.

I will check with the local Jeep dealer. According to the NHTSA website the vin has no open or unrepaired recalls. Were all HPFPs recalled for the 2021s?

Yes, 2021 would have been in fuel pump recall.

I would ask the dealer to clean the EGR tube and let you inspect it before bolting it back on.

Make sure to take it on an extended test drive so everything gets up to operating temps. Sounds like a low mileage truck so it probably needs a couple good runs to burn off soot build up in the exhaust.

Thanks for the input! Luckily I have close family members that manage the service center at a Jeep dealer so I should be in good hands regarding any future work that’s outside my abilities. Always a bit nerve racking buying a used vehicle.

Heading out in a few hours to check the rig out, so hopefully all goes well. We’d love to add a Jeep back to our stable.

Thanks for the offer! I’m looking for a pretty specific setup, but good luck selling yours!

Hey 20blue, I know someone in TN looking for a low mileage Diesel Gladiator. How can I put them in touch with you?

Well things checked out fairly nicely.

Overall condition is good (I’m quite picky). Interior (saddle leather) I’d rate at a 9/10, one imperfection I believe I can remedy, one light stain I can steam out. Exterior has what I’d expect from a used Jeep with 36k on the odometer, a few rock chips, a few spots to buff, and the start of minor corrosion on the hood edge (verified it will be replaced under the corrosion warranty).

From a maintenance/upkeep perspective there are no apparent leaks, oil pan exterior is dry, undercarriage shows virtually no signs of ever being off-road.

Now the fun stuff, appears to have Fox 2.0s, 37s, KC HighLite 8 led light bar, switch pro 9100 setup, led light package, warn winch, and I believe every option available with the exception of OEM aux switches.

Worked what I felt was a good deal and took it home. The drive home was enjoyable at 75mph for about an hour while the lie-o-meter on the dash said I got 23mpg. We have a busy weekend but I hope to clean it up to my standards Sunday afternoon and go through things very thoroughly. Oil change and fuel filter change will be the first items to tackle. Looking forward to being a member of this forum.

Sweet! I was trying to figure out if and what lift it may have. I don’t see any signs of obvious branding on anything other than the shocks.

It may have the Mopar lift on it. So everything looks stock.
