Okay a bit of a rant...

I took my Jeep in to the dealer in April for the 26A recall on the rear axle seal. They inspected and supposedley orders parts. I followed up in July and got "parts still not in". I followed up with @JeepCares in September and have gotten nothing but the run around via private messages on this board - promises of emails and calls but never received any. They said they sent an email but when I called them out on it, they asked for my phone number and email (how could you sent that email that was supposedly sent without that information orginally)! Still never heard anything from them via email or phone.

So I stopped by the dealer today to see what is going on and was told that someone had called them from Jeep Cares. They said this work order was written up under a recall and it was not a recall. I would need to bring the vehicle in an leave it for the day so that they could inspect and order parts.

Now understand, this had already been looked at by the dealer in April and parts were ordered. Now this guy is telling me that it is not a recall - I am sitting here looking at the letter from Jeep that is entitled "Customer Satisfaction Notification - Right Real Axle Shaft" that I took in along with the leaking jeep in April. There is a phone number to call and a website that clearly says RECALL.

Regardless, that is not my problem - RECALL or not, I have been jacked around by this dealer for 6 months and no one bothered to pick up the phone and call at the dealer. I have been jacked around by JeepCares for at least a month with promises to call or email or something and I have heard nothing. Now I have to take the jeep out of commission for a day to have it "inspected" yet again and then what, wait another 6 months on parts? I asked what happened to the original parts order - he said recall parts are different from warranty parts. I am calling bullshit on this as it is the same damn part! It is an axle seal that is leaking, regardless if you replace the seal or the whole axle because Jeep technicians can't be trusted to press off bearings and install a seal correctly is not my issue - the physical parts, regardless of recall or warranty or me walking in an ordering them from the parts guy are the same freaking parts.

I have added differential fluid as I am towing the SxS to the deer lease and don't want to cause further damage - will Jeep reimburse me for that? Are the brake pads going to be replaced as they are coated in grease as well?

I am beginning to think @JeepCares is simply pranking me TBH because I have gotten the literal run around from them for over a month.

Okay, done ranking - now to waste another day with the Jeep at the dealer.

I can see the jeepcares was online yesterday but hasn't responded to when i gave them an @ a week ago. I can say they probably don't really care.
If they cared I wouldn't have the wait a year for a recall that I still haven't gotten done

They DO NOT Care just like ram care. They only help until a certain point and they just will diddy you in the end. They seem like they are there to help but it's to keep customer interface alive, just remeber they work for the company that wont fix your stuff. In the end they will alway protect their company when it comes down to it.

They cut me off after they hit $10k in rental reimbursements and won't reimburse me for about $5k of other out of pocket expense.

Jeep cares has no power that you don't have. They E mail and call, maybe. You have more power to Rant here than to PM them and get it off the forum.

I absolutely agree with that.

THIS will be the absolute last new Jeep I buy TBH
Yeah this is why we jumped ship not long ago as well. 3rd time with the same issue in 9 months on her '22 JLUR and the dealer I have to go through is a nightmare. We cut our losses and I used the equity in my Gladiator to put her in something nice that she felt was a fair alternate. I have all but given up on any Mopar vehicle until Stellantis goes away, and that is assuming someone better can take over lol. I love the Jeep community though which is why I still hang around, and hope some day I can get back into one without the hassles.

@JeepCares is mostly a liason between the customer, the dealer, and Jeep. Their power to do anything is limited. I'm sure they care, they just aren't allowed to do very much. If you want anything from them, you have to initiate contact with a private message or phone call. They rarely post here, or respond to what is posted here.

Be careful - it's not a recall in the sense that people usually think of as recalls.
It's not truly a recall.
It's to let customers know there may be an issue, and what the solution is and they are heading it off instead of waiting for people to find the leak and report it.
I had one that was about a misfire - they called it a recall, but it wasn't truly. They just wanted to let customers know it was more likely than normal to have that situation arise.
Don't get hung up on the word "recall".

Exactly - they have no real power at all. They help with communications and track problems and so on.

I see you are located in TX, depending on where you are located have tried a different dealership? Where I am at there are Jeep dealerships every few miles. It took a minute but once I found a good one it was well worth the 40 minute drive to get it any recalls or warranty work done there than at the one 5 minutes from my house.

I can see the jeepcares was online yesterday but hasn't responded to when i gave them an @ a week ago. I can say they probably don't really care.

Have you also called different dealerships? Being in Los Angeles there has to be a few Dealerships there. I bought mine in April and called around the dealership I went with had the CP4 pump in less than a week

That is really too bad that Jeep does not care. One thing I know for sure is the folks that put my Jeep together really do care because it is one of the most well built vehicles I have ever owned and I have owned a few. The fit and finish on my Gladiator is excellent . I have owned one CJ5, three CJ7's and five Grand Cherokee's and my 2023 Gladiator out does them all. However, it is still too bad that Jeep does not care.
