I ran over a tree limb and some other debris on the road that the county tractor left behind, and as I traveled over it the limb lifted off the ground and twisted and hammered against the side of my Jeep. It left 3 small dents in the passenger side front quarter panel, broke the antennae plastic surround, and left a large scrape in the passenger door. It was so loud I pulled over.

Man, I was not happy to find that. I must have OCD or something. I have never been able to accept a dented vehicle. This was two days ago and I'm still bummed. I called the county to see if they'll cover it. If not, I don't think I'll even put in for an insurance claim because they'll turn right around and jack me to take all their money right back.

This thing is way too nice to smash up. I guess that's the problem I'm having.
Why did you buy it? Most of us who bought a Gladiator will use it in the way it was built and tested. Others will park it at the mall and be worried about door dings.

My wife cringes everytime I drag a branch or something down the side of mine. I laugh and say I don't even care anymore. It's not a Corvette, it's my offroad toy. Hell, I haven't washed my Harley in 3 years. It sees more miles than anything we own. Tools are to use, not look at.

Many of the same sentiments. I bought it to ride trails with. Every dent and scratch is a souvenir from a great journey. Just spent last weekend cutting trails for a Jeep event I volunteer at and adding to the scars. To see others being able to enjoy these trails once we have them cleared is what its all about. Yes, I would love to have a dent and scratch free vehicle but not at the expense of missing all the fun I have had and will continue to have.

The only time i ever cringed from damage is when it happened on the highway, because of all i put my truck through, the highway is the last place it should be getting damaged. But assholes in pickups with unsecured cargo turned one highway trip into a game of dodge the detritus. I was pretty good, but not good enough. That gouge made me angry.

I'm not a rock crawler so big damage is never a concern for me, but blowing down a tight brush trail you hear all kind of scratches and scrapes happening all around you. There's a reason why i ordered my truck with plastic fender flares and hardtop. Less paint to scratch up.

I hear what you're saying. It used to bother me when I'd see someone driving a wrecked vehicle around, or they replaced a quarter panel with a different color and didn't paint it. But I did own a few "winter rats" that I bought just for the salty season. I tell you the only good outcome is that once a vehicle is scratched twice......I no longer care and somehow enjoy driving it even MORE. The stress and anxiety of parking lots and other people all goes away when I'm driving a beater. But you've got a 23 rubi? Gotta fix that man...too new and too nice. When I could only afford one vehicle then it went in the woods. But these days I'd rather have a dedicated trail rig, with bedliner for paint than mess up anything "new."

The county won't pay anything. You took it off road, you took a risk. If the dent bothers you, take the Jeep to a body shop and have them pop the dent out.
Buy a Band-Aid sticker and cover the dent.

Dents and dings happen but many are easily removed. Forget the insurance pirates that will take your deductible and jack your rate. Places like Dentworks Paintless Dent Removal have kept me dent free from on-road and off-road incidents for years. Prices are reasonable too. Small dents and dings can be as cheap as $100 a piece to remove. Major damage and paint damage may still require a full body shop for severe stuff, but don’t sweat the small stuff. Or wear the dents and dings like a badge of honor… it is a Jeep after all.

I bought a Jeep to do Jeep shit. Jeep shit involves scratching, denting, scraping, breaking, and smashing. If someone looked at my truck in the parking lot and called it clean or pavement princess. I would be low key insulted. Mine looks good from 40 ft. after that i bask in the comments and snide remarks of being called an idiot for tearing up a "perfectly good truck". If rubbin is racing, then scraping is wheelin! No tire spared, no panel unscathed, no skid undented. Fuggin Send It!!!!!!!:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:
